Love this series of classic Japanese murder mysteries involving impossible locked room murders while also giving social commentary on pre and post WW2 Japanese culture, tradition and class system.
Entertaining 80's B creature feature about a killer cicada, a bitchy final girl and her asshole boyfriend. This book from @shortwavebooks.bsky.social and @tanyapell.bsky.social had me laughing out loud while it also has some gore. Recommended!
Sci fi horror about a teenage scientist, deaging, 5 elders on the brink of death, jellyfish and a mutating wolf. Such a good story. Nick Cutter wrote a book that reminded me of Crichtons Jurassic Park combined with later era Stephen King.
A dark and grim roadtrip through a plague and war torn medievel France where devils and demons roam and god is absent. This one is as good as its cover.

Don't ever go tresppasing with your kayak into a place with the criepiest little monsters and their devouring god. Adam Nevill wrote a very real and scary folk horror book.
Now this is one scary story. Very cinematic in how it's written and a real pageturner. It reminded me a bit of From. Another great one by Kliewer.
IT meets The Abyss. A mix of supernatural and more close to home horror. Pretty unhinged at times. A scary, claustrophobic book.

Wards' most accessible novel so far is still a dark, powerfull book. Bits reminded me of Yellowjackets and as always with @catrionaward.bsky.social she manages to surprise the reader with her storytelling.

This is not a day to day journal about 2026 but it is an action packed horror about a big group of influencers on a remote island than once was the island of a cannibalistic cult.
Also liked @chucktingle.bsky.social s queer autistic demon and priests slayer. Loved the inclusion of a deathcore grunting queer former camp counsellor.
