Science and nature loving lawn mower avoider. Welcome to my wild tangle of a yard! I hope you enjoy its inhabitants as much as I do.
There goes Tree Frog tonight- straight up the tulip poplar😄
Frog is doing his best to act casual about it… but Lady Green Frog is visiting his pond🎉💚🐸💚🎉
There’s a whole pouch full of new Opossums out there😄
Maybe Lady Green Frog is out there listening tonight… maybe she’s not… Frog sings his song regardless🐸
I pull stilt grass out by the armful- but will never be rid of it because it’s just wrong to disturb smol creatures sheltering beneath it🥰
And Frog thought to himself: what this morning needs is a little song🎶
Meet this summer’s Guardian of the Shed Door Relocating them is futile- they always return to their post
For the past two nights, Cope’s Gray Tree Frogs have been calling with everything they’ve got (this one stopped as soon as we opened the back door)… 1/2
Crow- when there are no treats: “This is me walking away”
Young slimy salamander (and snail friend) found in northeast Ohio today - Arguably one of the prettiest non-Ambystoma salamanders in North America.
Tree Frog headed back to the camera pole hideout at 3am😄
This tiny Green Frog was in one of the goat buckets looking sad and skinny a couple of weeks ago- I dumped them into this pond… so happy to see them thriving now😄
Can’t count on much these days- but if I check this camera just after sunset… there goes Tree Frog up the tulip poplar in search of breakfast
Bee drama in the passionflowers today… must be some sweet, sweet nectar😄
Tree Frog on a breakfast run- just after sunset today😄
Squirrel advice: when Hawk is around- do Not close your eyes while washing your face
Squirrel commentary on some drama happening this afternoon… most likely between Hawk and Crow
Tree Frog showed up last night and began calling from the edge of Green Frog’s pond (which is Definitely His because he Won It in a wrestling match) so, Green Frog gave him a good splash but Tree Frog cares nothing about Green Frog property rights and kept right on 🎶singing🎶
Lady Carpenter Bee stopping by for some nectar and a back rub
i have a photo to share I just took today this is our little Pacific chorus frog you can tell because of the stripe going through their eye. This is the first confirmation I have that the tadpoles that showed up in my pond are indeed our native pacific chorus frogs I’m really happy.🐸
