This week I asked whether independent panels set up by Ministers, such as one for Primodos, will be covered by the statutory Duty of Candour and Duty to Assist. This matters for families still seeking truth after decades.

It meant a great deal to hear Andy Burnham recognise the tireless campaigning of the Primodos families during this week's debate on the Hillsborough Law as we passed this bill through the House of Commons.

I’m deeply saddened to hear of Anne Widdecombe’s passing. Although we disagreed on many political issues, I respected the dedication and sacrifice she showed in caring for her mother in her later years. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this difficult time.

This week I chaired a special parliamentary meeting and screening of Human Tide at Westminster, on behalf of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Hajj & Umrah. So many families across the UK make the pilgrimage each year, so I made sure the issues that matter to them were front and centre.

Important news! Thanks to the work of Andy Burnham whilst he was Mayor of Greater Manchester, the Clean Air Zone was replaced with an investment led plan, meaning instead of charging drivers, the GMCA was going to invest in zero emission buses and help taxi drivers get compliant vehicles.

Today marks the anniversary of equal suffrage, and I am proud to stand as the 314th woman ever elected to Parliament. It is a privilege I do not take lightly. With just two years to go until we mark the centenary of equal franchise in 2028, we still have work to do.
