Circumstances beyond our control reduced our Barrow leg from three days to a 24hr blast. But it was well worth it. All three key Eider species were eventually seen well though we did have to work for them. This pair of Spectacled Eider posed nicely. #Birding

Another classic, the Safety Roadhouse. Out on the coastal tundra an hour out of Nome, it shuts down over the winter and photograph’s inside show snow piled up to roof level. What a bar!

Plenty of these perfectly attired American Golden Plovers were encountered as we searched for Bristle-thighed Curlews up on ‘Coffee Dome’. Unfortunately the curlews were not so confiding and only offered up vocal flight views. #Birding
