Unifora is uniwidth. That means each character takes up the same horizontal space, whatever weight or slant you pick. A Thin Retalic “U,” a Bold upright “U,” and a Black Italic “U”—all exactly the same width.

17px is the sweet spot for Unifora and Innovator Grotesk. At that size, capitals land exactly on the pixel grid. I pre-calculated other sizes where the same thing happens, each paired with a matching line height. Find the full table in the fonts’ user manuals.

Innovator Grotesk letters "Hn" rendered at 17 px and magnified 1600%, showing capital H strokes aligned precisely to the pixel grid with no sub-pixel blurring on edges.

I spent 2 years on a single constraint: every weight, every width, every slant—same character widths. Today Unifora is out. A uniwidth variable sans-serif superfamily. 135 fonts. Industrial edge, architectural precision. Let me walk you through it.

Pick a paid font if you want your product to stand out. Most your competitors use free fonts and end up looking the same. Spend a few dollars on type, and even plain black text on white will feel distinct.

1/2 “The new licensing model strips away the usual complexity. Instead of tracking device counts, managing web traffic metrics, or navigating tiered user structures, it comes down to one question: how many people work at the company? That’s it.” This is new licensing from the Displaay foundry.
