I got too busy to have hobbies. Non-work things: LEGO, romancelandia, knitting, Formula 1. Celiac with a keen interest in making desserts and a passable home cook. (she/her)

“I wasn’t consulted on this change.” What I wanted to say in response: no shit, because your opinion doesn’t matter. What I did say: “I spoke to X and Y, and the downstream operators, and they aren’t confused.”

42F overnight and the main house is at 62F: we are officially playing “heat chicken”, where we wait as long as possible before lighting the furnace for the winter.

I am sad, because I just sat with one of our star techs and helped her with her resume and job hunt, because I can’t recommend working here anymore.

We’ve been invited to an engagement shower (and quasi-reception, as the wedding proper is v. small), but it’s the weekend between Thanksgiving and our trip to Boston for Drosselmeyer. Can I handle three straight weekends of traveling?

This team is currently running a Kickstarter for the (lighter in theme / less scary) Doomensions pop-up escape in a box. We played the first one and I really enjoyed it. www.kickstarter.com/projects/mys...

My husband and I (and our Force Multiplier, @juliegranite.bsky.social) do escape rooms for fun. I gave him Mysterious Package’s HAStUr (mysteriouspackage.com/collections/...) for Christmas and I’ve spent the last five hours with goosebumps on my arms and a creepy statue on my dining room table.

Today, I had to explain to Iron Filings that I could not put a check before (operation) that uses the date and time that the operation is completed as part of the calculation for the check.

I’m annoyed that because I had to provide contact details for a conference I’m attending, between that and my new title, my work phones are now subject to a lot of cold sales calls. I am not handling it well.
