Thank you ☀️ The map has folded shut. Copy after copy, it left toward walls in countries I've never been to. That was the point: a map is made to travel. Back to the quiet work now. Watercolour, gold, pressed petals. Something small, for those who opened their door. September, on your walls.

Last day to get the Labyrinth map. Tonight, this edition closes for good. One year drawn by hand, gilded by hand. After tonight, no other gilded, numbered copies will ever exist. www.yoannlossel.com/labyrinth-ma...
Two days left... One year of drawing by hand, gilded by hand. Mercator never kept his maps. He drew them so others could cross. Sunday night, the map folds shut. No other gilded, numbered copies will ever exist. www.yoannlossel.com/labyrinth-ma...
A year inside one map. Drawn by hand, gilded by hand. Mercator never kept his maps. He drew them so others could cross. Now it's a print, finished by hand. Pre-order until July 12: www.yoannlossel.com/labyrinth-ma...
Uou watched this map take shape for months. Now it exists in the room: pressed into paper, edged in gold, stamped by hand, numbered. Mercator never kept his maps. He drew them so others could cross. Pre-order in bio. Until July 12. www.yoannlossel.com/labyrinth-ma...

For months you watched me draw it. It's finished. And now it can leave. Mercator never kept his maps. He drew them so others could cross. A map, for him, is how you resist. Hand-finished. Arches paper. Gold hot-foil. Limited, then closed for good. Pre-order: www.yoannlossel.com/labyrinth-ma...
A map kept by one hand is a leash. So I won't keep this one. One year of work. A map of a world that won't hold still. They call the Tower the centre; I found none. Drawn at its foot, with my back to it. Made to move. 🧵
Fragments of the Labyrinth — note 14 One year. The last line of gold. The map is finished. It happened on the longest day. The light climbed as far as it could, then stopped. The map. The year. Me. All holding still at once. Soon, you'll see it too. #fantasyart #darkfantasy #worldbuilding
I put gold around everything I've seen. Including this one. Especially this one. The border holds. Periwinkle. Perseverance. Someone chose that word before I did. Fragments of the Labyrinth — note 13 #fantasyart #darkfantasy #worldbuilding

I found this in the margins of an old archive. Three figures. Three scythes. Something watching from above. Everything seems to be falling. Nothing falls. Les Fleurs du Mal — oil, gold leaf and hydrangea petals on Arches paper, 2014. #fantasyart #darkfantasy #worldbuilding
Late. The map looks different at night. I'm not sure it's the light. Fragments of the Labyrinth — note 12 #labyrinth #fantasyart #worldbuilding
Cartographer’s note 11: Cartographer maps what he's seen. Three places remain empty on this map. Not forgotten : unreachable. Some doors don't open until you're ready. I don't know if I'll ever be. Now, the gold.
Some days, it feels less like drawing a map and more like listening to one. The Labyrinth is too vast to reveal itself all at once. So I work slowly. Photo by Psyché Ophiuchus IX — #labyrinth #fantasy
This world has a center on the maps. I don't know if that's a cartographer's habit or a fact. Eight directions on a compass rose. Each pointing to an era. None fixed. One leads home. — Cartographer's note 10
Before the Labyrinth, I painted thresholds that smiled before closing. The Morrigan. She invites. White birds. Purple silk like blood. You walk toward the goddess, past the flowers. Later, you notice the red at your feet. A door identical to your dream. An exit that is a test.
Fragments of the Labyrinth — Note IX Some routes were erased from official maps. I marked them anyway. The crossings between eras still exist.
Before the Labyrinth, there was Diane. Hunter and hunted. Neither mortal. Condemned to replay the same scene forever. A world where the cycle has no moral. Only a rhythm. Diane - 2013
The map moved while I wasn't looking. The red mark is mine. I think. #labyrinth #darkfantasy #worldbuilding
Before the Labyrinth, there was Thanatos. 2013. Graphite, gold leaf and hydrangea petals on Arches paper. Looking back at this piece now, I realize I was already circling the same threshold: the moment when identity loosens, when something crosses, and the masks no longer hold.
Cartographer’s note: At first, I was just painting around the map. Trying to keep things contained. But the edges don’t hold. Each circle shifts the balance. Not enough to see it. Enough to feel it. The Labyrinth isn’t drawn. It reacts. How would you map something that refuses to stay still?
Fragments of the Labyrinth — Cartographer's note 7 I stopped mapping what I see. I started mapping what recognizes you. *(it knew your name before you arrived)* #labyrinth #darkfantasy #worldbuilding #fantasyart #arg
The notebook stops mid-word. No one knows how far he went. Fragment 05 — Mercator’s Map. www.patreon.com/posts/157164...
Before the Labyrinth, there was Beowulf. Made in 2018 for Easton Press. Mixed media on Arches paper. I was already asking: Does the hero seek the legend, or is he called by it? I still don’t have an answer.
