On our way back to Staithes y'day eve on our Seabird & Whale trip I found a group of Little Gulls & juv Black Tern feeding with Common Terns & Kittiwakes on an area of spawning Herring. A beautiful sight as they all hovered over the water dropping in to pick up the tiny fish and eggs at the surface

The last few days have been great for Minke Whale sightings, guiding on our YCN Seabirds & Whales pelagic boat trips aboard All My Sons with excellent skipper Sean Baxter. I took these photos yesterday morning, the coast of Whitby & Sandsend visible in the background

Cetaceans were literally everywhere y'day on our Seabird & Whale trip! Barely a break in the action and we had some great seabird action too! Arctic Skua, Guillemots, Razorbills, Minke Whales & Bottlenose Dolphins in the photo set. Big thanks as always to our highly skilled skipper Sean Baxter

Guiding gold today on my Seabird & Whale trip A super pod (biggest pod in Yorkshire for many years) of Short-beaked Common Dolphins! up to 100 animals approx 1.5 miles from the coast at Runswick Bay/Kettleness. A huge joy to watch and really exciting for our guests

Fabulous views of Pufflings on our Seabird & Whale boat out of Staithes yesterday skippered by Sean Baxter. These tough birds leave the nest on their own. No training from their parents they have to fend for themselves, learn how to catch food and avoid predators, Inherited behaviour at its best!

Wow! - What an AMAZING morning @Bempton_Cliffs I was delivering a 'Birds in Flight Photography Workshop' this morning when I spotted this very rare Brown Booby flying past the view point. Here is a fairly cropped record shot - what a bird... Steve YCN

A very special Forest & River Birding Discovery Day today. Guiding is great when I can show people Goshawks, Hobby, Spotted Flycatchers, Willow Tits, Marsh Tits and almost best of the lot was close up views of a Hawfinch flying around our heads.
