If you're spending time in and around the National Park this weekend, please: 🔥 Do not light barbecues or campfires. 🌊 Waterways can look deceptively calm and shallow at this time of year. BUT rivers and lakes can be extremely cold, deep and difficult to get out of.

Last weekend our Young Rangers met with the National Trust Area ranger for Upper Wharfedale and his team in Yockenthwaite, to remove tree guards from trees planted 10 years ago. It was a windy and wild day but the small group of Young Rangers managed to clear the whole area!💪👏

The Dales is easier to explore by train and bus than you might think. With scenic rail journeys, affordable bus connections and the freedom to start and finish your walk in different locations, public transport is part of the adventure👇 https://ow.ly/yrxm50ZsjYg

Together, our Rangers and volunteers replaced an old gateway on a Right of Way beneath the Settle-Carlisle Railway, near Kirkby Stephen. The new kissing gate and box help ensure livestock are kept separate, without the worry of a gate being left open. #volunteer #YorkshireDales
