Pearl, Faith and Tyler cheer for Maggie from the sidelines. Faith is a bit more aggressive than the others. Leslie pleads Maggie not to humiliate her, but Maggie lightly taunts her. She rolls her ball, which begins to roll straight toward the middle of the pins.
Panel 1:
Pearl: "Woooo! Go Maggie!"
Faith: "GET HER ASS!!!"
Tyler: "WOOO!!!"
Panel 2:
Leslie: "Maggie, please... Don't do this to me!"
Maggie: "Sorry, Les..."

The bowling ball hits perfectly in the middle, knocking down all the pins. The television shows David Bowley playing a wicked guitar solo for a huge concert crowd as pyrotechnics burst behind him, declaring Maggie the winner. Maggie taunts Leslie as Leslie falls to her knees in despair. Pearl, Faith, and Tyler all stand up and scream. The entire panel is shaking with hype. Pearl stands up with their hands on their head, Faith has her hands on her cheeks, and Tyler throws his arms up, and in the process, his basket of cheese fries.

TV: "MAG WIN!"

Maggie: "Should have been better at the game!"

Three pins are left standing. Leslie looks with concentration before finally throwing the ball. The ball hits two pins, ending Leslie's turn with nine points. This is reflected in the television screen, with David Bowley in the theater watching a movie and eating popcorn with a big number 9 next to him.

Leslie leans back and declares that the game is over, turning around to say "good game" to Faith. Faith turns back to look at Pearl, who seems depressed and scrolling on their phone. Faith turns back, without any malice, and gives Leslie a gentle "good game" back.
Panel 6:
Leslie: "Aaand, that's game.
Panel 7:
Leslie: "Good game, babe!"
Panel 9:
Faith: "Yeah. Good game!"

Leslie leans down and begins to taunt Faith again, even as she supposedly won. She doesn't notice Maggie walk past her with a mischievous look back. Leslie leans back and announces we now know who's the better bowler, only to be cut off by Tyler exclaiming in shock that Maggie got a strike. Leslie turns her head, completely caught off guard. She sees Maggie confidently standing in front of the television screen, depicting David Bowley driving a plane with a flag that says "STRIKE!!!", and text that says "BONUS BALL" at the front.
Panel 10:
Leslie: "Oh, NOW you wanna be humble? Isn't that sweet?"
Panel 11:
Leslie: "Whatever. At least we know who's truly the better bowler-"
Tyler: "MAGGIE GOT A STRIKE!!!!"

Pearl walks back to the couch, and Faith notices they look a bit down. Pearl sits and vents about how they're not good at the game and haven't had any fun. Faith tries to cheer them up, but when she mentions that winning isn't everything, Pearl gives them an annoyed look, which Faith quickly recognizes is for her hypocrisy over needing to win and lashing out when she wasn't. She begins to apologize in the last panel.
Panel 1:
Faith: "You ok, Pearl?"
Pearl: "Not really... I didn't have any fun today."
Panel 2:
Pearl: "Doesn't matter if the bumpers are on or off, I still suck at the game."
Faith: "Ohh, it's okay! Winning isn't everything!"
Panel 3:
Faith: "No. No, I hear it. You're right, I have no right to say that."
Panel 4:
Faith: "I'm really sorry. I hate losing and being taunted flusters me, but that's no excuse for my behavior today."

Faith laments that she can't just enjoy the game the same way Tyler does, who is doing the same lean and arm twirling dance that Snoop Dogg does in the music video for "Drop It Like It's Hot". Faith puts her hand on Pearl's shoulder and promises to tone it down, but Pearl sulks and just wishes they could be better at most things. Faith consoles them and causes Pearl to at least form a smile.
Panel 1:
Faith: "I wish I could just enjoy the game like Tyler does."
Panel 2:
Faith: "I can tone it down if you want."
Pearl: "You don't have to. It's okay."
Panel 3:
Pearl: "I just wish I was better at... Well, most things, really."
Faith: "We all have things we wish we were better at."

We're now well into the second game, with Tyler scoring a solid hit and causing him to celebrate. Faith looks at the scoreboard and worries about still being tied with Leslie. Leslie taunts her over her skill at the game, angering Faith in the third panel and making her even more angry in the fourth panel (where her eyes start cascading into several hot colors and steam blows out of her ears).
Panel 1:
Tyler: "BOOYAH! That's what I'm talking about!!"
Panel 2:
Faith: "Ohh, we're still tied! How am I supposed to beat you now!?"
Panel 3:
Leslie: "Have you tried being better at the game?"
Faith: "I SCORED THREE STRIKES IN A ROW!!!"
Panel 4:
Leslie: "And I scored four. Try a little harder."

Faith leans her head on Leslie's shoulder on the first panel, swooning and playing up a seductive voice. In the second panel, she starts leaning close to Leslie's face and rubbing her thigh, as hearts and faded red hues surround the place. Leslie snarkily fights against it by claiming the hate sex will be "even better". This results in the fourth panel, where Faith transforms into a massive, feral, angry version of herself with devilish red skin, eyes cascading in loud colors, and teeth sharpened as the background becomes a hellish landscape. She and her texts burst out the panels, leaving Leslie and the rest of the (deeply horrified) characters looking much much smaller. Leslie still seems a bit turned on though.

Faith: "Ohhhh, Leslie! Won't you pleeeeease let me win?"

Pearl readies their first roll as Faith cheers them on. Pearl anxiously looks down at the alley, before taking the risk and throwing the ball. The ball makes a solid hit and knocks down a ton of pins.
Panel 1:
Faith: "WOOOO!!! Go, Pearl!"

The television screen depicts David Bowley chilling at the beach, sipping a margarita under a palm tree. The sunset is in the form of the number 8, indicating that Pearl knocked down eight pins. Faith and Leslie cheer as Pearl reacts in surprise, regaining their confidence as they go for their next roll. In the fourth panel, it abruptly cuts to Pearl sitting in despair at the alley line as dark doom lines shower them and the television depicts David Bowley lying down like the infamous Family Guy death pose with the words "GUTTER" over him. Leslie tries not to laugh as Faith tries to give encouragement.

Pearl: "... Huh! Look at that!"

Pearl is at the shoe stand speaking to the blue-haired employee from earlier. Pearl and the employee end up engaging in a conversation, with the comic mostly limited to the two of them at the shoe stand.
Panel 1:
Employee: "So! New game and a new order of cheese fries, is that correct."
Pearl: "Y-Yeah, that's right."
Panel 2:
Pearl: "A-And could you turn bumpers off for me as well?"
Employee: "Heck yeah I can!"
Panel 3:
Employee: "Y'all got a heck of a game, dontcha?"
Pearl: "Don't I know it..."
Panel 4:
Employee: "How long have y'all known each other?"
Pearl: "The group's been a thing for like two years."

Pearl and the employee continue talking, ending their conversation with Pearl needing to head back for the game. Before they leave, the employee reveals her name to be Abigail, or Abby for short (which is now reflected on the dialogue).
Panel 5:
Pearl: "I've known Leslie and Tyler since high school, Maggie is my cousin... Aaand, Faith is Leslie's girlfriend."
Panel 6:
Abby: "The blonde and the redhead? They don't sound like a couple."
Pearl: "They're not usually like this."

Pearl: "I should get going. I-I think I'm up first, so..."
Abby: "Of course! Don't let me keep ya!"

Pearl looks at Leslie with concern as she's sweatier and more overheated than the others (Might have to do with wearing her leather jacket).

Leslie angrily confronts Faith for startling her and screwing up her throw. Faith smugly taunts her. Leslie goes for one last throw, as the remaining group leans in with anticipation of how the game ends. Pearl leans in, Tyler stuffs his face with more fries, Maggie takes a fry and smirks at the coming drama. Two panels depict close-ups of Leslie and Faith's eyes as the throw is readied.

Panel 1:
Leslie: "That was fucking dirty."
Faith: "Shouldn't've gotten startled then, babe!"

Panel 2:
Leslie: "You're lucky I have one more roll. It's not over yet."
Faith: "Bring it on, bitch!"

Panel 3:
Maggie: "This'll be fun."

Leslie throws the ball. It hurdles toward the pins, Leslie and Faith watching with determination in their eyes. Tyler, Pearl, and Maggie watch in immense anticipation. The background of every frame has speeding action lines to emphasize the tension.

The bowling ball hits straight in the middle, and as it goes in, it results in a split that leaves exactly four pins up, tying the game.

The television screen depicts David Bowley spreading his arms in victory in front of an election map marked in yellow, spoofing the meme of Jeb Bush winning the 2016 election by a unanimous landslide. At the bottom of the screen it asks, "PLAY AGAIN?". Leslie and Faith stare at the screen, brows furrowed and frowning. They then turn toward each other and begin to verbally fight. In the background, an emotionally exhausted Pearl gets up to start a new game, Tyler realizes he's out of cheese fries again, and asks Pearl to pick up another basket, winking at them as they irritatedly agree to it.

Panel 1:
TV: "FAI & LEZ. WINNER!!! PLAY AGAIN?"

Panel 3:
Leslie: "Sure, why not!? Maybe this time I won't lose to a fucking COWARD!"
Faith: "No THIS TIME you're going to TAKE the L and you're gonna LIKE IT!!!"
Pearl, grumbling: "Let me do it, please.

Faith ends up rolling a split, putting Leslie in range to take the game. Leslie confidently rolls and immediately knocks down all the pins, earning the strike.
Panel 1:
Faith: "NO! A SPLIT!?"
Leslie: "GGs, babe! Guess we know who the better bowler is!"
Panel 2:
Faith: "I-It's not over yet! Even if you get a strike, you're still six points behind!"
Leslie: "When I get a strike."

The tv screen announces Leslie achieved a bonus ball, to which Leslie cockily brushes her hands off and taunts Faith further, making Faith even angrier. For a moment, Faith contemplates something, as Leslie raises her arm ready to throw the final ball.
Panel 6:
TV: "BONUS BALL!"
Leslie: "Easy peasy."
Panel 7:
Leslie: Don't get upset, babe. Second place isn't so bad!

As Leslie throws the ball, she's suddenly startled by a loud shriek from behind her. She drops to the floor and watches her ball fall into the gutter. She turns back to look behind her, absolutely furious. Faith innocently looks away with a halo over her head. Behind her, Pearl is completely startled, Tyler is in frozen in shock while he holds a fry in his fingers, and Maggie tries to stifle a laugh.

"EEK!!!"

Faith: "Oops! False alarm! <3"

Later in the game, Maggie goes up and rolls, with Faith cheering them on. Tyler asks the employee, a chubby girl with braided bright blue hair, for another basket of fries. Leslie and Faith give out more banter while Pearl laments being in last place even with bumpers on.
Panel 1:
Faith: "Wooo!! Go Maggie!"
Panel 2:
Leslie: "Last round! And we're still tied!"
Faith: "Not for long we aren't!"
Panel 3:
Tyler: "Hey, at least we're having fun, right Pearl?"
Pearl: "Ohhh, even with the bumpers I'm still in last!"
Panel 4:
Maggie: "You sure you don't want to just turn them back off?"
Pearl: "I dunno..."

The employee comes back with a fresh plate of cheese fries. Tyler thanks her while Pearl noticeably finds themselves attracted to her. The employee remarks on how strong the game is, even as Leslie throws some potshots at Pearl. The employee ends up giving some words of encouragement. Asking if the group agrees that it's not all about winning.
Panel 5:
Employee: "Here you go, hon'!"
Tyler: "Thank you so much!!"
Panel 6:
Employee: "Wow, lookit this scoreboard! Y'all are killin' it!"
Leslie: "Yeah, except for the only one with bumpers on!"
Faith: "Leslie!"
Panel 7:
Pearl: "No, no, she has a point. I'm just bad at the game."
Employee: "Aww, don't be so hard on yourself!"
Panel 8:
Employee: "Besides, bowling should be fun! It ain't gotta be all about winnin'. Don'tcha agree?"

The group gives various answers to the employee's question. The employee leaves, the group, suggesting to let her know when they're ready for the next game. Pearl looks away and blushes, not noticing that the employee seems to also be blushing while looking back at them.
Panel 9:
Leslie: "No."
Faith: "Hell no!"
Tyler: "Absolutely!"
Maggie: "Yeah, of course!"
Panel 10:
Employee: "In any case, lemme know when y'all are ready for the next game!"
Maggie: "We will, thank you!"

A four panel montage of three of the characters bowling. In the first panel, Tyler confidently swings his ball with a bursting blue background behind him. In the second panel, Maggie also throws her ball with confidence against a bursting purple background. In the third panel, Pearl, less confidently, slips around the floor holding their ball and accidentally steps over the line which causes the alarm to trip and buzz. In the fourth panel, there's a close-up of the cheese fries as Tyler pulls one out of the cheesy pile. In between all the panels is a ball knocking down all the pins.

In the fifth panel, Leslie confidently throws her ball, and a boom sound is displayed above her. The next panel shows David Bowley jumping in the air as fireworks go off and the words "STRIKE!" appear in red, white and blue colors. In the seventh panel, in the same composition as Leslie's panel, Faith throws a ball and a boom appears above her, but Faith's expression is more determined. On the eighth panel, David Bowley parties with bowling balls that are dressed up to look like bikini babes, as the word "STRIKE!" appears above them in a flowery font. In the ninth panel, Leslie and Faith stare each other down, Leslie smugly looking down as Faith angrily glares up. Behind them, the TV screen depicts a parody of Jurassic Park with David Bowley in awe of a bowling pin dinosaur. The word "STRIKE!" forms in the trees.

Tyler and Maggie look at the scoreboard as they remark how competitive the game is between Leslie and Maggie. After mentioning Leslie being ahead, the second panel shows Leslie scoring another strike, much to Faith's annoyance. Maggie also notices Tyler's low score, but Tyler shrugs it off and says he's enjoying the game, as well as the banter between Leslie and Faith as they return to the couch.

Tyler: "Daaaamn, this game is tight as hell!"
Maggie: "Faith wasn't kidding. She's killing it so far!"
Panel 11:
Maggie: "Leslie's still ahead though."
Leslie: "Fuck yeah!"
Panel 12:
Maggie: "Yikes, you're not even in contention."
Tyler: "It's all good! I'm having fun, I got my fries..."

Tyler: "... And I'm enjoying the show!"
Faith: "If I didn't split, I'd totally be kicking your ass!"

Leslie sits next to Maggie to talk to her about Faith's cutthroat competitiveness. Faith sits next to Pearl, who expresses surprise and concern over her competitive edge. Faith apologizes and admits that she doesn't like losing and she tries not to let it get to her, only for Leslie to taunt her from the other side of the couch which upsets Faith once again. Maggie tells Leslie to tone it down.
Panel 14:
Leslie: "I didn't realize Faith could be so cutthroat!"
Maggie: "She's a debate kid. Are we that surprised?"
Panel 15:
Pearl: "Wow, you're kinda scary when you're competitive..."
Faith: "I'm sorry!! I get carried away..."

Faith: "I don't like losing. I try to hold back, cuz I don't want to hurt someone's feelings..."

The game begins. Pearl bowls first, with Leslie, Faith, Tyler and Maggie sitting on red couches with a brown table in front of them. On the table is a checkered boat plate of cheese fries, from which Tyler is eating from. Pearl's ball bounces along the bumpers and knocks down some pins. Pearl celebrates despite Leslie's jeering.
Panel 4:
Pearl: "Nice!!"
Leslie: "You're supposed to knock down the pins, not the walls!"
Faith: "Leslie! Be nice!"

Pearl turns back and defends themselves, but now it's Faith's turn. Faith rolls (with Pearl slightly blushing as they watch). Faith immediately gets a strike. On the television, David Bowley hits the dab on a rocketship in space that has "STRIKE!" written on it (reminiscent of the weird elaborate bowling animations from 90s and 2000s bowling alleys). Faith celebrates with a little dance, the gallery impressed.
Panel 5:
Pearl: "Hey! At least I'm getting points!"
Faith: "My turn!"
Panel 9:
Faith: "YESSS!!!"
Tyler: "Daaaaamn!"
Leslie: "Not bad... Not bad at all!"

Faith taunts Leslie as she rolls up, but Leslie confidently rolls a strike herself, as the middle panel depicts the ball speeding towards and knocking down the pins. Leslie revels in her victory while Faith looks at her irritated. Pearl sits down and shares fries with Tyler.

Faith: "Think you can do better than that?"
Leslie: "I don't have to think..."

The group is now at a bowling lane. Pearl and Tyler are setting up the game on a small tablet while Faith, Leslie and Maggie are sitting on the couch. Maggie is looking at her phone while Faith and Leslie talk.

Faith: "You know, I'm actually really good at bowling!"
Panel 2:
Faith: "No one in my family could ever beat me! Twenty years, undefeated!"
Panel 3:
Leslie: "You make it sound like you came out of the womb a bowling champion!"
Faith: "Well, I might as well have!"
Panel 4:
Leslie: "I'm sure you did all that without any help."
Pearl: "... M-Make sure you turn on the bumpers for me. P-Please..."
Tyler: "Come on, girl..."

Leslie leans back with her hands behind her head, confidently proclaiming her bowling prowess. On the second panel, she thinks about a time she impressed a redheaded woman and confused her shaggy haired boyfriend. Leslie and Faith shake hands, but draw each other close as they flirt and glare into each other's eyes, annoying Maggie.

Leslie: "I hate to break it to you, but I'm a seasoned pro!"
Faith: "Really?"
Maggie: "I can confirm. She's good!"
Panel 6:
Leslie: "You'd be surprised how many girls I've pulled by simply bowling better than their boyfriends."
Panel 7:
Faith: "Then it's a game! Good luck and have fun!"
Leslie: "Thanks, but I won't need it."
Panel 8:
Faith: "Oh I think you will."
Leslie: "Nah, I think you will, babe."
Faith: "Yeah?"
