During her location research, author @annakashina found herself in the City of Promalock (modern day St. Malo), with a view of the likely location of the Island of Ys. This picture of the city wall is feasibly very similar to how Adol had first encountered it back in the day.
To do her research for #Ys9 novel, author @annakashina.bsky.social also explored an extensive network of underground tunnels that run underneath the city of Paris. As a disclaimer, she did not use Crimson Line or Shadow Dive, and never once did she knowingly encounter any alchemy creatures.
The City of Balduq is heavily rooted in French history. During her work on #Ys9, novelization, author @annakashina traveled through France and shared some inspirational images from her location research
