Older man, less fox given, talks about software, posts about food.

Trying the new `union` keyword in C# 15 (RC.1) and already stumbled on "how the hell do I reflect over the union type and get all the cases". Poor man's approach is to inspect the type to see whether it carries the UnionAttribute and tease the cases from each declared constructor's parameters.

With rise of AI, the strain that puts, indirectly via the data centers needed to support it, on natural resources such as water and the world heating up, ... sounds like a killer combo.

53 is the only decimal age that one can experience oneself where the hexadecimal equivalent reverses the order of the figures (35). The next one is when you turn 371 ...

So fucking tired of all this AI talk … can’t wait for the dust to settle and getting back to the order of the day, even if AI will be part of the new normal (which is fine by me).

Wait … was this before or after Trump called up the referee to make sure the game is rigged?!? Jokes aside, if nothing else this match is bound to attract a lot of attention.

Erosion is what happens to terms over time. Name any pattern, practice, or principle, give it time and eventually loudmouth devs will spit on it. Disgusting habit if you ask me.

One thing I find a useful application of AI is the ability to shuttle it questions of a statistical nature about data (code is data too). Not because I can't get the answer another way, but because I can be lazy about it and still get it. #guilty

As the years in my career in software development go by, I’ve started to notice that the toolbelt you need to carry around keeps getting bigger too. Simple is under appreciated. We’re so focused on the “meta” aspect of our profession …

7 years in and all that UI gear is still working top notch. I do my rounds during summer to clean every appliance (de-dust, clean outdoor gear). Configuration and upgrading has been relatively painless.
