February's record marks the 9th consecutive new record monthly low, with 32 of the last 36 months setting a new record low.
You either accept the IPCC’s assertion that there should be no new fossil fuel infrastructure globally, or you don’t. If UK invests in new fossil fuel infrastructure, then it destroys its capacity to argue that no one else should. 1/2

Tim Roberts@zaphodiom.bsky.social · 11mo agoIt should be a tripartite tax. By weight, size, and emissions. Possibly even four: size should be split into two components for area and vertical bonnet height or some other proxy for how badly pedestrians get damaged if they’re hit.
We will know our governments are serious about tackling the climate crisis when it’s cheaper to take the train from northern UK to the south of France than it is to fly. And not 2-3 times the price

It was my 2024 aim to get to work by bike (normal or “e”) 40% of the time. Made it. 79 days at 28 miles round trip = 2,200 miles by bike (vs 111 days by car). It was mostly fun… Just imagine what the Isle of Mancould do with an actual Active Travel program and some infrastructure….
