when I stop for the clipboard people because yeah I'll sign a petition but they want money instead 😭 and not just cash from my pocket but my email and credit card info

watched Mulan with my younger cousins and I forgot they said she was doing drag and called her a crossdresser. shocking that this would be seen as controversial today

rewatching Chernobyl (series) and it's framed exactly like Jaws except instead of people going into the water and you going "noooooo the shark!!" it's people going outside and you're like "noooooo the radioactivity!!"

you could probably do some sort of interesting comparison between Ancient Greek Troilus (beautifully victimized boychild) vs. medieval Troilus (noble knight laid low by a woman) and ancient Achilles/Patroclus (violent warriors) vs. medieval Lancelot/Galehaut (lovesick knights)

I'm only 1/8 of the way through one volume the Lancelot Grail (it's hella long) but I might do the Emily Wilson Odyssey translation for my next classics book.... I really do need to read it at some point. also the Iliad.

Nolan makes movies for people who think they're too smart for Marvel. All the pomp and circumstance and explosions with dialogue like "it's not okay you did that to my mom". The dumb man's smart movie.

watching a Chernobyl documentary and getting a better picture of what went wrong.... it's literally always the swiss cheese model. every single disaster is like "10 things were done incorrectly at the same time"

I love when couples are the same height, I just saw an older couple where the woman was like 5'1 and the man was like 5'2 and I was like wow.... this is how it should be. this is natural. height differences are an affront to god.

I didn't mind the emotional climax of the Odyssey but it was literally like every single one of Nolan's other movies where a guy goes "damnnnn I'm kinda lowkey evil (even though I didn't mean to be 🥺)... I kinda fucked everything up forever... the consequences... damnnnnn......"

this is my favorite painting from the Monet exhibit because the dark red sun from the crazy European coal pollution looks exactly like the dark red sun you see when there's a wildfire nearby

crazy that influencers are straight up wearing latex now. baby powder and oiled up and all. what fetish material will be subsumed into popular culture next? dare we dream of mainstream fursuiting?

I'm walking down the street and I hear "No Scrubs" blasting from behind me so I turn around to see what vehicle it's coming from and it's a guy on a motorcycle with a thin blue line leather jacket????????

I've only been to one sports game, and after the hometown team won they started playing celebration/hype up music. But what do they play after they lose? Simon & Garfunkel's The Sound of Silence? Nine Inch Nails' Hurt? Linkin Park's In The End?

I'm facing a sort of interesting artistic challenge where 1) I inherited a bunch of frames that my grandma was getting rid of 2) I have an excess of brightly colored paper 3) my printer ran out of black ink
