🚀 Zed v1.14 is out! Zed's Agent now sandboxes its `terminal` and `fetch` tools by default. The sandbox prevents agents from writing outside project directories, modifying `.git`, or accessing the network unless you grant permission.

Zed New User Office Hours with @movraxrax.bsky.social is next Tuesday, August 11 at 12pm ET / 9am PT. During this 30-minute Zoom session, Miguel will cover navigating Zed, using its built-in Git features, and working with the built-in agent. Bring your questions! luma.com/zed-ox7n

🚀 Zed v1.12 is out! The Git Panel now has an option to group changes into separate Staged and Unstaged sections. Clicking an entry in either group opens the corresponding Staged Changes or Unstaged Changes multibuffer. Thanks chirivelli!

🚀 Zed v1.11 is out! Zed now has dedicated Staged Changes and Unstaged Changes multibuffers where you can review, stage, unstage, or restore individual hunks. Thanks drbh!

🚀 Zed v1.9 is out! Zed's pickers are resizable, with a live preview option. Very Telescope! 🔭 Thanks ozacod!

🚀 Zed v1.8 is out! The new `agent.terminal_init_command` setting runs a command automatically whenever you open a new terminal thread in the agent panel.

The outline panel gives you a compact overview of your search results. Scroll the full list of matches, click any one, and jump straight to it in the multibuffer. Read about it, and other hidden gems, in the latest post: zed.dev/blog/hidden-...

🚀 Zed v1.7 landed yesterday, here's what's new! The agent now automatically compacts your thread context. Adjust the `agent.auto_compact.threshold` setting to control when compaction occurs, and run `/compact` to trigger it manually.

Starting with today's release (v1.7), Zed's native agent will automatically compact your conversation when your context hits a certain threshold.

Great software always took shape in conversation, not the commit. With agents, the conversation that generates the code is becoming the true source of our software. And Git can't keep up. So we built something that can. Meet DeltaDB: zed.dev/blog/introdu...

Xcode, @jetbrains.com IDEs, Zed, and dozens of other tools (CLIs, desktop, web, and mobile apps) all use ACP to talk to agents. Open source, no lock-in. What's preventing you from adopting?
