VRC Light Volumes v.3.0.0 will support Area Light realtime texture emission, almost like LTCGI. Less physically accurate, but very performant!

New prototype of VRC Light Volumes real-time shadows! It uses EVSM сontact-hardening soft shadows. Performance seems good on PC, but I will do more tests. Finally something that looks better than what you can achieve in Unity by default!

No idea if this story is true, maybe it is, maybe not. But small acts of kindness can really change some for the better. I know this has been crazy to hear with all the crazy other posts I have today (welcome to whiplash, it might not be your tempo) but it’s true. Be kind to others.

Realized I never shared this short crummy little breakdown I made back in 2023, showcasing the datamoshing workflow with the DXR raytracing setup I was working on at the time. "Everything is rendered in realtime in #unity3d using custom post processing shaders & a custom DXR (raytrace) setup."
I tried the Rebocap trackers in VRC the other night, and sadly they weren’t the best, however it might’ve been me not calibrating it right, needing to change some settings, so I’m gonna keep trying it for a few weeks before I decide if it’s gonna replace my SlimeVR trackers permanently!

Hot Reload is currently being sold at half-price on the Unity Asset Store at around €35. I highly recommend it, it lets you do live code updates. I have also confirmed that as of April, it works on Basis social VR framework projects in Unity 6. assetstore.unity.com/packages/too...
