Great to join Governor Wes Moore in opening the MD Dems' new field office, right here in Baltimore. I appreciated the chance to speak with my City Council colleagues and the Governor about what it means to show up for our residents. This is Baltimore's moment.

One of the coolest moments of my career was introducing Mike D from the Beastie Boys to Baltimore at the Sound Garden. Growing up, I was a huge fan. At age 60 he still sounds amazing. Baltimore is winning!

It was great spending time with the Baltimore Furniture Bank and hearing directly from their partners about what it takes to help families build stability at home. This is what partnership looks like.

I am so incredibly proud of Baltimore’s historic declines in violence.

When I joined the Council ten years ago, our city felt out of control. Death and corruption defined our narrative.

This is what Baltimore’s renaissance looks like. 🎹 As a proud piano-lesson parent, I joined neighbors, artists, and city and state partners to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of the Patterson Park Academy of Music. 1/4

Some of my favorite moments from National Night Out:

My favorite judge straightening me out at Hunting Ridge

Spending time in the neighborhood at Ashburton

Photo-bombing my MIMA friends do their thing in Upper Fells

Baltimore showed up and showed out for National Night Out!

NNO shows that it takes a village to reduce murders to record lows. Whether we’re on the East Side or West Side - our village is strong 💪

As the 1st city in America to legislate trauma-informed care, Baltimore can also be the BEST city for youth mental health.  I was honored to keynote today’s conference at the Bloomberg School for Public Health. 1/2

Today and every day I will fight back against BGE’s extractive money grab.

A powerful coalition is calling on the PSC to  approve more battery storage projects across Maryland. Such projects support our power grid and prevent BGE from profiting even more at ratepayers' expense.

Not every kid in Baltimore needs to go to college. But every kid deserves an opportunity for a high paying job in the building trades. That’s why I was proud to host my friends in the Trades along with Councilmembers Jones and Dorsey at City Hall. 1/3

Baltimoreans should not be footing the bill for BGE's record profits.

The previous conduit deal allowed BGE to profit from investments they made into the City-owned underground utility network. 1/2

A time was had at the Spirit of Mt. Washington and Roland Park Independence Day Parades ❤️🤍💙

Baltimore is a city of neighborhoods, whichever one you are celebrating from, have a safe and fun 4th of July Baltimore.

This budget literally puts our money where our values are: safer schools, stronger neighborhoods, and support for the local, worker-owned businesses that power our economy. 1/2

Through collaborative negotiations, the City Council successfully won additional funding for childcare, safer schools, smoke-shop inspectors and immigration services. We couldn't have done it without budget season MVP, Chair Danielle McCray.

As a young(ish) dad, figuring out how and where our kids learn is deeply personal to me and your City Council.   Today, I was grateful to welcome the National League of Cities to Baltimore with Mayor Scott, Councilman Bullock, Gray, Blanchard, Jones, and Torrence. 1/3

Every kid in Baltimore deserves to swim in a beautiful pool. Especially big kids like me, the Mayor, Councilman Bullock and Comptroller Henry 😂 Today, we cut the ribbon with the Poppleton community for the grand opening of the Greater Model outdoor pool. Baltimore deserves this!

Happy Pride Month, Baltimore! I was honored to kick off Baltimore's celebrations with the Pride Center of Maryland today. Last year, marching as a Grand Marshal of Baltimore Pride was joyful! This month and every month, I'm proud to stand with Baltimore's LGBTQ community. 🏳️‍🌈

City, state and law enforcement officials stood together today to say enough is enough. There are more than 1,200 smoke shops open across Baltimore. Some sell unregulated, dangerous drugs. We do not have the legal tools in our toolbox to shut down problematic businesses for good.

Every moment spent with Baltimore's older adult community is a reminder of why this work matters. Thank you Mayor Scott and Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries for hosting Baltimore's 4th Annual Older Adult Seminar.

Baltimore fought for this. Maryland is accelerating nearly $25 million to jump-start a new bus division - the linchpin of the BMORE Bus plan and a major step toward expanding service for the workers, students, and families who depend on it every day.

A little rain didn’t stop my son Elias and I from chowing down at Artscape’s Food Lab this weekend. I’m still thinking about just how good those Beye Beignets were, and Elias wouldn’t stop talking about the smash burger from Royal Sauce .

Wishing Baltimore a meaningful Memorial Day and a moment to remember the brave men and women who gave everything. Today we honor their sacrifice and recommit to building a city and a nation worthy of all they gave.

Today at the Board of Estimates, we reviewed a disturbing audit. The Finance Department is failing to send correct invoices, collect money that is owed, and follow up when it isn't paid. They couldn't even estimate how much revenue is missing. This is unacceptable.

Taxpayer Night gives the Council an opportunity to hear directly from the people. I love listening to Baltimoreans speak about what they want to see reflected in our city’s budget.
This is our moment. I am so grateful to serve.

Thank you to our intrepid 2026 City Council Pages! Hayley, Sebastian, Rylee, & Jerome worked alongside the Council to research issues affecting our City, interviewed Councilmembers about their work and priorities, and presented advocacy projects focused on making Baltimore better for its residents.

Honored to be named a LocalGov250 Champion by the National Academy of Public Administration. This award recognizes the top leaders across America who create positive change in local government. Even more thrilled to get the award with my love ❤️  Baltimore’s renaissance is real!
