Hm. Hmmmm. Recent thought! So I have come to the conclusion that Ren's quirk def only works on humans [so no machines or animals essentially] cause I was thinking about how he feels about animals [neutral at best, I don't think he'd want a pet or anything]. Isn't Nezu like. not actually human.
