There is no way Degwin is 170cm tall, I'm sorry 😂

It's honestly taken me far, far too long, but the first volume of Fukui's version of Turn A Gundam is now done. 250 pages for this beast... and I shudder to think what my final count for the second volume will be. Heck, my translation of Unicorn V1 in college didn't even hit 200 pages! *cries*
I swear she makes the goofiest expressions sometimes.
I think one of the hardest things I'm running into in translating a lot of the older published lore and whatnot is how to collate it. I have no problem slapping up the books, but it'd be nice to show all the "conflicting" info together 😅
I still wonder if the Dopps we saw in Requiem for Vengeance were a nod to either Izubuchi's rough doodle from 0080's planning, or maybe the Gundam Weapons entry. The "fake" background lore makes soooo much sense.
I have to wonder how connected Atsushi Hirata was to any Sunrise staff, because reading this predates 0083: In August of '79, the Zeon Navy pulled off a notable prize, the capture of the Federation's assault landing ship Albion, a 60,000-ton vessel promptly rechristened the commando carrier Lützow.
This fall, the fate of humanity rests upon one man’s ability to choose between two nearly identical woodland paths. Frost’s contemplative poem becomes a 3hr hour epic of destiny, sacrifice, and extremely slow walking! THE ROAD NOT TAKEN Every path leads somewhere. Only one becomes legend.
Studio execs are going to want to adapt more poems for the big screen now
Tomino feels like it's time to move past the giant humanoid robot concept... I feel like he's right. Both can still exist, but I think it's time to begin redefining "mobile suit" again.
Looking at the JPN site has me wondering if we'll see religious iconography or stronger thematic ties with this, given the "three revelations" (三つの福音, lit. "three gospels"). Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it...
"I imagine we all have our own idea of what Gundam is." This isn't the first time a creative has said this, and it certainly won't be the last, but it's ridiculously relevant. This is Kamiyama's version. You don't have to like it. That's okay. But when you say it's not Gundam, it's not YOUR Gundam.
So we have "aliens" in manga, anime, and game format now... and part of me wonders whether Eight really was delayed because of a manga artist being unavailable or to actually loosely tie into all of the XARX-ZERO stuff coming (and to avoid having to have a manga version of an anime yet again).
Tomino: Leave Tomino's Gundam behind and create freely. Bandai: Shhh. We just can't.
Bandai, why are you using AI to narrate your NEW Gundam anime?
Gundam Eight reveals this bombshell on the last page then just casually goes "yeah, we're on break next month."
Takim Heavy Industries is one hell of a deep lore cut. 🤣 Mickle did some research!
The cover for this months Gundam Ace has been revealed. Definitely a major shift from their usual style. Works with the logo now.
"I'm frustrated enough to feel that until I win an Oscar with Gundam, I can't allow myself to die." --Yoshiyuki Tomino (2007)
Under Armor: Proud Sponsor of the EFF. I dunno... "Semper Terra" seems like Titans material to me...
My little girl turns 1 today! Where has time gone? 😭 Suletta absolutely wants to forgetta (bout) her outfit 😂
Here's to hoping @animeigo.com's Great Aunt Edna has moved on to greener pastures following her dire warnings in the early 90s...
I really don't think this suit design works in Gunpla form...
Gundam Thunderbolt manga starting out as a Gundam AGE support project was not on my revelations bingo card for 2026...
Finally getting around to the wacky Data Gundam biographies to show fans just how crazy lore got over the years. Thankfully, the compilation book tells readers not to take it as "gospel" when it comes to Gundam lore, but it's funny how they make a Sherlock/Star Trek reference at the beginning.
Taking the doggo for a walk after a brief monsoon and it's always freaky hearing the Corona discharge from the power lines along the path 😬
Huh... I wonder if Gundam is dropping off Hulu? Season 2 of Gundam 00 is missing; there are only half of Wing's episodes...
“The general wants to see us.” “The general, you mean Admiral Mubarac Stern, right?” 🙄 Why, why do you do this, Tomino?
