Kinda love how the Meta glasses get so much flack for being "pervert glasses". ...No ... the people are the perverts, the glasses just enable them. But then, that is literally the guns rhetoric and that is icky. The whole guns don't kill people, people kill people thing.

What they say: "Accessibility and SEO/AI support/better discovery go hand in hand!" What we hear: "We know accessibility is a drag so here, have a carrot so you actually get better YOURSELF by trying to include more people because FUCK THAT< amirite?!"

ahh but it's all good, the chief accessibility officer at Microsoft said so! Sarcasm aside this is yet another example of not practicing what you preach, and it hits hard. Good luck to everyone impacted :(

So many people who aren't blind celebrating the fact an implant/treatment may "restore" sight in blind people. Here's a blind person's take: Really promising for those who want this but some of us actually don't need to be fixed :)

Fun Fact! People with no sight (fully #blind): - play #videogames - watch #movies - read #books - have #jobs - create #content - #Stream on #Twitch and #Youtube - use BlueSky 😱 Did you know this? If not, ask me anything :P

Meta Threads's audio captcha takes you away from the captcha you're solving which means the code is no longer valid when you try to enter it. But sure, tell me more about how they give the blind sight with their glasses. Screw off ... #actuallyBlind#accessibility

I see a lot of people say Meta glasses supposedly "give the blind their vision back". Let me just put that claim to bed once and for all https://www.reddit.com/r/Blind/comments/1u8q2vo/meta_glasses/ This is a lot more clear of a reflection of what they're ACTUALLY like #actuallyBlind

It is really powerful to be able to put a practical spin on what to many is only theory. Would love to do this for more companies

I can do a presentation at work about some CSS that's already a few years old, and blow their minds. I've invited @zersiax.bsky.social on occasion to speak to my colleagues, and just hearing someone use a screenreader and see in real time where the blockers are, also blows their minds. They CARE.

hi there @byobattleship.bsky.social :) I'm a blind content creator/streamer and gave Torment Hexus's first demo a quick look on stream last night. Would love to help out in getting the #accessibility right on this one, have time for a chat? :)

Currently working on a #pullRequest to make the Learn section of #lichess #accessible to the #blind . A lot of that website already works great, just not the basic tutorials. fixing :) #a11y #accessibility

Oh hey. I'm an #accessibility auditor that's also a developer AND an end user of assistive technology. Can't interpret accessibility audit results? Hire me and i'll do it for you 🎊

It's GAAD (Global Accessibility Awareness Day). Three things you can ship today: 1. Visible focus styles on every interactive element 2. Real alt text on your top three pages 3. A free scan to see what else is hiding GAAD is one day. What you ship today helps users every day after. a20y.com #a11y

The fact this image doesn't have alt text is a bit of a painful take in light of that message 😬 I feel very stood with #blind #altText #YesItIsActuallyImportantAndNotJustAnAITrainingTool

On Global Accessibility Awareness Day, we’re proud to stand with #Disabledpeople calling for a world without unnecessary & obstructive barriers. Real progress happens when councils, orgs & service providers work alongside Disabled people. When accessibility improves, everyone benefits! #GAAD
