After working around an odd bug of GitHub that their team has been unable to fix for more than a week, the Zettlr update API should now finally find the 4.7.0 update. To update, you can now check for updates from your app again, and Zettlr will offer you to update to 4.7.0.

Apparently there seems to be an issue with the GitHub API, which prevents the internal updater of Zettlr to show the new 4.7.0 update. Until that is fixed, you can just download the corresponding installer from the release page directly and install it manually. Sorry! github.com/Zettlr/Zettl...

Some of you may have experienced issues with Zettlr's citation key autocomplete stopping to work after the 8.0.3 Zotero update. While we don't know why it happened, we know what happened: Some citation items in the CSL JSON export are missing a citekey, and Zettlr just assumed tha they do.

+++ PSA: Zotero, BBT, Zettlr, and the search for the missing citekeys +++ TL;DR: For some reason, when you export (part of) your Zotero library with BetterBibTex, some items may lack a citation key. This appears to affect Zotero 8.0.0 and upwards, maybe just 8.0.3 and upwards.

A recent feature we just added is Lua filters! The assets manager now exposes the Lua filters for your exports with Pandoc for easy management. Coming with version 4.0.

By popular demand, we have added in Zettlr 4.0 the ability to instantaneously toggle between a raw Markdown source-code editing experience, and a WYSIWYG writing experience. This toggle will be available in the statusbar.

For Zettlr 4.0, we decided to give the Zettelkasten workflow a little glow-up. We have streamlined the settings, and fully embrace the ability to set link labels for any internal link.

For Zettlr 4.0, we have put some extra effort in rewriting the citation parser. Now, your citations will be properly highlighted and detected. This improves performance, user experience, and implements more citation features. Oh, and the citation renderer now properly detects crossrefs!

One of the most-anticipated new features of the next release of Zettlr is a fully-rewritten table editor. No more data loss, easier insertion, and much more support for syntax highlighting, citations, math, and more!
