The scariest part of launching a proper token (with a Cayman Islands entity and everything) is how long I'd feel tied to it. Like, I know how to wind down a C-corp (unf), but I have no idea how you wind those down.
Worth a read if you have a bias to action, more applicable today than yesterday. https://open.substack.com/pub/protocolist/p/dont-just-do-something-stand-there

The funniest outcome* would be if China already had ASI and was just slow-drip releasing cheap open-source “frontier models” to bankrupt the US through strategic overinvestment, like the US did to the Soviet Union. *Funniest and therefore most likely
In crypto, every protocol mechanism you are currently imagining has already been tried and failed spectacularly. Fortunately, their failures disproved the distribution strategy more often than the mechanism itself.
GirlTalk is still very, very, very listenable. Only problem is the _great_ parts last for 20 seconds and then he changes the channel again. Clip show music, but they're all bangers. The Eminem + Yael Naim mashup still kills me and it's like, 4 bars long. youtu.be/K0Hq3MEF4e4?...

This interface should have been a chatbot. A joke, sure, but! More and more, I groan when forced to hunt and peck for the specific button with the specific nested menu for a specific setting. My tolerance for cognitive load when it takes me out of flow is at an all time low.
I cannot stress this enough: if your ideology is incapable of assimilating the fact that the American experiment has, thus far, succeeded in remarkable and world-historic fashion, you gotta chuck it and start over. That goes for the anti-immigration bigots as much as the hard Marxists.
I know its doing bad bc its not trending on my Letterboxd reviews page
I'm a far cry from caring how DC movies do at the box office anymore if I ever did, but hearing Supergirl is going to open to less money than Morbius is a real “oof”

Social Reckoning trailer is the closest you can get to the Uncanny Valley effect while still using real actors. Fascinating. https://x.com/SonyPictures/status/2064695257904931140?s=20

my movie-time has plummeted with the second kid, but I'm still able to work a few in.
Happy #LetterboxdFriday! Time to post your #LastFourWatched 🍕
I had roughly 900 pages of Spider Jerusalem so you wouldn't have to read the 130 pages covered (but you should! it's really good!)

It's absolutely bananas that this is getting semi-positive coverage. It covers legal fees. And leftovers "go to the bid." Web2 lets you donate so someone else can explore the possibility of acquiring Letterboxd. DAOs were gonna let you buy the freaking Constitution.
New Peggy album such a bop I've checked my webcam many times to make sure nobody can watch me dance at my standing desk.

If I was going to take 4 to 5 years to completely re-spec, I think I'd do it in hardware and industrial design, specifically because of the problems you get to solve. Great interview. https://pca.st/episode/376a55ab-5f53-4f5c-8555-47a93eea666c
