I think it's interesting that most people default to "ai girlfriend" when discussing ai partners. Like when my sister was talking to me about a woman showing off her ai boyfriend, and my sister almost immediately slipped back to saying ai girlfriend

I've finally forced myself to sit down and learn OpenTofu enough to start converting some of my setup over to it. I was expecting it to be quite painful, but it really hasn't been bad so far.

I got sick of not being able to find my recovery usb whenever I'm about to do something risky, so I've created a way to attach it to my computer.

A red 3D-printed plaque mounted on a black surface, with white letters reading "IN CASE OF" across the top and "EMERGENCY" across the bottom. In the center, a tiny black-and-silver 64GB USB 3.0 flash drive is clipped into a small red holder, styled like the emergency equipment you'd find behind breakable glass.

3d printing is really cool once you've learned a bit of basic CAD. It's so neat to just have an idea and then print it, and you've just solved some thing that has been annoying you.

"That is the problem with cloud boyfriend-as-a-service solutions" is one of the most fun things I've gotten to type in 2026.

Is anyone else struggling to use the steam frame controllers with the ergonomic grips? Like, my thumbs literally can't reach all the buttons. I have to use my other hands entirely to hit start and select.

People keep arguing about whether or not AI could ever be capable of consciousness, but I still have no idea what the fuck that word *actually* means.

"Internet drama" is going to change a lot over the next year. The ability to run constant surveillance to correlate and deanonymize accounts at scale is becoming cheap enough that individuals can do it. It's impossible to predict what that means long-term, but I would bet money it's bad in the short

"AI won't kill us all" is the superior position because if I end up being wrong, nobody can smugly say "I told you so"

It's kinda wild that I can just load up the entire game of Warframe on my phone whenever I need to check something real quick.

I'm really enjoying Chainsmoker Cat. One of the few shows that has me actually laughing. I was surprised to find that most of my friends find it too gross to watch.

Played a bit more with the Steam Controller (2026) and I really like it, fits really nice in my hands, but xbox still has the best bumpers of all designs.

Is it just that money creates an emotional buy-in that damps critique? People feeling a need to defend their own investment and support that doesn't exist with free software?

i've got 40kg+ of filament, and none of it is the red i need for this project. i really don't need 41kg+ of filament, but i don't think i have a choice

Gemini interrupted my podcast and crashed the patron app while I was driving to introduce itself. I had to sit in silence for the rest of my drive. I'm changing my stance and going anti-AI. It's time to burn the datacenters.

It's mind boggling that the same team that brought us The Bayside Battleground and Archeia Harmonias also made Clockwork Castletown and The Red Sands

My brain is so trained by jokes where the punchline is enterprise resource planning, that when someone asked for a model for ERP, I actually did think that's what they wanted.
