Data scientist exploring intersections of philosophy, science, and AI. Writing about where technology meets human understanding and statistical thinking. Based in Hungary. https://crowintelligence.org/

The guy in every AI thread insisting it was done first, by a Soviet mathematician back in 1965, is usually right, with dates you can check. It changes nothing. Credit doesn't follow priority. It follows whoever won the fight and got to write the textbook.

Summer reading has begun: Quantum in Pictures plus the companion videos. Instant love. Same spirit as Lawvere and Schanuel's Conceptual Mathematics — intuition from diagrams, not symbol-pushing — but more fun. Also fell into lambeq and DisCoCat. Deeper rabbit hole than I bargained for.

Are we reading an AI's "mind," or just mapping math to human syntax? Anthropic's NLAs are brilliant tech, but framing them as "thoughts" is careless. AI has moral performance, not moral competence. It has no real stakes, and it will never face a hemlock moment. www.linkedin.com/pulse/anthro...

Anthropic's NLAs, the Intentional Stance, and the Illusion of Moral Competence

Anthropic recently published research on Natural Language Autoencoders (NLAs), a technique designed to translate the internal activations of large language models into readable text. The mechanism map...
