I am not an atheist. Atheism deals in absolutes. I'm a scientist and science does not deal in absolutes. I see little evidence of a "god", especially any that have been written about in ancient barbaric texts. However, I am willing to admit a god, as soon as anyone can produce testable evidence.

A significant percentage of our local central Pennsylvania party "leadership" is rabid NIMBY (or sufficiently cowardly not to cross them)
The perfect encapsulation of your average Connecticut Democrat: “No Kings” also “STOP MASSIVE BEECHER APT COMPLEX” Sorry, champ, you’re undermining all the policies you think you care about. We really need to get to the point where being a rabid NIMBY is unacceptable in the Democratic Party
Sometimes after I finish reading a book I go and get myself a personal pan pizza just for old times' sake.

It really is amazing that Trump keeps pushing to throw some random guy who didn't seem to commit any crime into prison for a decade and this isn't being treated like a huge scandal.
Listening to my generation talk about the 90s the way the previous generation talked about the 70s is tiresome. No that wasnt 'back when movies were good' or 'music still meant something'. There's loads of great shit coming out now and there was loads of slop back then. You just miss being young.

NEW: The EPA spent hundreds of millions on lead remediation in Omaha, home of the nation’s largest residential Superfund site. New soil tests by @flatwaterfreep.bsky.social and ProPublica show that years later, many yards still have harmful levels of lead.
The simplest way to learn about things you do not understand is to ask questions. Shaming folks for curiosity is silly and shortsighted.
if there’s anything I would want to drill into the public consciousness it’s that there are almost always like a dozen ways to approach any given problem and some of them will be more effective than others and we have to stop acting like the questions around it are against fixing the issue

How did you become a libertarian? We sat down with 10 scholars and staff at the Cato Institute—with different origin stories, areas of expertise, and concerns—to find out how they came to libertarianism, what gives them hope, and what they would fix first if they could. https://ow.ly/ObOn50Zp4W9
Build a wall. Make Canada pay for it.
NEW: Trump is now threatening to punish Canada for wildfire smoke blowing into the U.S., as a GOP senator intros a bill to sanction Canadian officials “responsible” for the fires driven by climate change. “Insane," says one leading Canadian enviro group. www.huffpost.com/entry/bernie...

I comment on one @whstancil.bsky.social post, Will responds, and... Wow, I was not prepared for the tangential hate that spilled in my direction 🙄
