In this week's Guide: a gruesome Finnish fairytale about new motherhood, a doc about Flaco the owl, Agnieszka Holland at the Academy, an esoteric film series at the Metrograph, Sally Potter, Barbra Streisand, and a short Palestinian film about water rights in the Occupied West Bank.
It felt like something out of a dream.

Having now seen the ODYSSEY, Corey Hawkins is the high-key highlight of the supporting cast. Which isn't a surprise because he's always among the best parts of any film he's in. Hawkins is an amazingly talented actor who never gets his due flowers.

I spent my last night in Prague at this cocktail bar reading Margo Jefferson. I had hoped this post-fest sojourn would recharge my batteries but honestly, I’m still pretty burned out.
