Formerly of the other place. Now here. Former writer. Former actor. Now just me. Thanks #LongCovid Still sarcastic.

I am disabled and very very underemployed ever since I was laid off in November of 2024. If I’m being honest I am losing hope of finding full time employment again. So I am trying to come up with other ways of supporting my family, bit by bit.

A few months ago, ICE hired me I didn't sign and submit any paperwork. I almost certainly failed the drug test. I'm real outspoken about my opposition to the Trump administration, and I am extremely googlable And yet, there it was, in plain English. "Welcome to ICE!" My latest for Slate

You’ve Heard About Who ICE Is Recruiting. The Truth Is Far Worse. I’m the Proof.

What happens when you do minimal screening before hiring agents, arming them, and sending them into the streets? We're all finding out.

I *really* wish that someone would explain to right wingers that government debt is not the same as household debt. That our grandchildren will NOT be living in poverty because in 2020 we gave out relief to people who lost their paycheques due to Covid. It's exhausting listening to them yell.

It is beyond infuriating that the GOP literally published an excruciatingly detailed manifesto of their evil plans and we still have people being surprised by what they do.

I think one of the worst of the problems with the Ford government is the sheer NUMBER of horrible things they are doing makes it impossible to keep the ire up about anything for very long, because then the next indignity comes along. But I will never not be angry about the Science Centre. #ONpoli

My IRL friends call me Chris@christyceeck.bsky.social · last yr.

"In the year since the abrupt closure of the Ontario Science Centre, the cost of a new site at Ontario Place has escalated, its opening date has been pushed back, there is no sign of a temporary location – & the old building’s roof that was said to be at risk of collapse appears to be intact."

It will never cease to amaze me how people will talk over disabled folks, tell us we’re wrong, infantilize us etc… and yet they can’t realize that in refusing to believe us and give us agency they’re almost always proving our point. We aren’t listened to. We aren’t believed. Ableism is everywhere

Random thought of the day: women seem to - on the whole, individual cases excepted - be more open re bisexuality. Men tend to stubbornly insist they are either gay or straight. I don’t think it’s that there are fewer bi men. But I wonder if it’s just indicative of overall black and white thinking?

It's somewhat miraculous that Brian Wilson managed to live as long as he did, given everything, but it's still a loss to his family, and a great loss to music. His talent was truly a gift for the ages, and I hope he managed to find peace in his later years.
