Eyes shut. /Lean back, Hoseok./ The ropes move through the machine until they catch; a jerking stopping motion, his feet connecting with the side of the giant just in time to stop from slamming into brickery. When he's stable, knuckles white around the rope, feet planted, he lets a little panic come and go with the breeze that takes the sweat clinging to his lower back with it. As easy and as difficult as the breath he inhales... exhales... It's as simple as letting go. Letting his weight carry him down. It's as impossible as taking flight, though it must be the closest thing.

I just started reading A Home In Your Stars by @95dumpling.bsky.social yesterday. Not very far, as family stuff has been extra rough recently but Daisy’s writing gives me a lot of comfort so I’m excited to dig into a tbr of hers that’s been on my list 🔗 below. 10k+ in my Homecoming #hopekook 😌

The liquor is bitter, clinging to his tongue long after swallowing. "I'll be gone before he wakes, but I'll come back and help out around here after rounds." Seokjin watches Taehyung for a few long blinks. "You don't have to, but he'll be happy for the company while I'm out front. It's hard without Jimin." Hoseok hums. "What about you?" The sharp look Seokjin gives him makes him laugh. He quickly covers his mouth but Taehyung doesn't stir anyways. "Don't make me say it," Seokjin says. "You don't have to say it. You miss him." Seokjin takes a long sip from his mug. "You're starting a race towards a line you don't wanna finish." Hoseok scoffs. "I've known you too long, Jin. Gonna take more than a glass of poison to make me think you're anything you're not." "Another glass then!" Seokjin reaches for the jar, laughing. Holding his mug out of reach, Hoseok declines. "Don't have me at bird's eye with a curve to my step." "Never. JK would kill me and then where would that leave my boys?" Lips stained red, and ears starting to match, Hoseok can see that the liquor loosens Seokjin's tongue and his posture. He can feel it warming his own belly. Knows how ruddy he probably already looks. "Jungkook just looks scary."Hoseok sighs. He finishes off the last of the Night Apple, the bite enough to pull his mouth into a little frown, brow pinched. "He's softer than he looks." "You don't have to say it. You miss him," Seokjin says in a terrible attempt at sounding like Hoseok. They ended up at that finish line anyway it seems. Of course he misses Jungkook. He isn't sure why everyone wants to talk about it. As if it isn't difficult enough to make it through from wake to sleep without rubbing salt in it. "I'm not afraid of good things, Jin," he picks, as if his bones don't shake the closer the two of them get to anything real. Anything too honest.
