When an ancient Egyptian knife mysteriously ends up in a display case at a Native American archeological site in Illinois, Talia Griffin sees an opportunity. Armed with a master’s degree in anthropology, a little blue hatchback, a criminal record, and a broken heart, cynical Talia has debts to pay and an ambition to carve a niche for herself as a private investigator specializing in antiquities. Luckily, her former best friend, the bubbly, good-natured Brian, is obsessed with Egyptian history. Unluckily, she hates his guts.
Then her client is murdered.
Now Talia’s newest client, a smoking-hot lawyer with some mysterious antiquities of her own (and dibs on Talia’s heart), may have a target on her back as well… and so might Talia herself! As the web of secrets and lies grows more dangerous, she has to decide who she can trust and if the money is worth the risks. With Brian at her side, the two frenemies must find a way to work together before cash runs out and anyone else ends up dead.
