the months pass and it will soon be time again to reread The Complete Rynosseros by Terry Dowling and to again dream of convincing at least one person I know to read all the stories as well so I will finally have someone to talk to about them. A dream dreamt for decades at this point.

Did you know The Librarian has an arch nemesis (in reality actually an X-Men villain) named The Vanisher? I usually post this comic book panel when talking about him but it is part of a full page comic spread and could be mini Librarian story in of itself.

The Vanisher in an orange scaled jumpsuit and outlandish pink cowl holds a stack of books and proclaims "I am the Vanisher and I take what books I want". A jeans jacket dude looks on in askanceFull 5 panels showing the Vanisher interacting with an African American woman librarian who wants his library card. Another guy in a jeans jacket with patches and a slouchy hat is complaining the Vanisher is taking all the book. Vanisher says his catch phrase "I am the Vanisher and I take what books I want". She says - "Not without a library card!" and in the final panel he disappears with the books in a cloud of poof and she says "Oh, no! First the Bookworm, now this!"

Part of my day job, not connected to AaN, is to design books for authors, poets, and organizations. After 30+ years I know a few things. If you are looking to have a cover or book designed, I can help. No AI slop ever. 100% human designer. DM or email me.

If nothing else I have ever done in the last 30 years of publishing is worth anything, I am most proud of the Librarian books and the community of linked authors who brought those stories to life. Something important was achieved there by us all.

Had an idea last night to publish a novelty size tiny book - 3”x5” (or close to that since I would want it to be the usual branded AaN proportions, just in miniature)- not sure what the hook/theme/twist might be for it. a micro size novella?
