It’s my son’s birthday tomorrow and I don’t think I’m getting across the border before my US drive time expires. Meaning I’m going to be late getting home tomorrow and I may miss my therapy appointment and some of his birthday celebration.

All the delays worked out to my advantage. I thought I was going to wake up and drive the rest of the way back to the yard and go home. Instead I got a long trip that will take me on my old route so that is going to make for a great paycheque.

I may have snuck off to visit friends today rather than drive my truck back to the yard. In fairness to me this was how far they want me to drive without freight or a trailer so why rush? I don’t get paid by the hour, and I still get paid.

Today has been a long ass day. I’m still at least six hours from my delivery, I will 100% be late, and I don’t actually care. This is a big step for me. I’ll still be going to sleep early, waking up early in order to get there as quickly as possible, but still a big step.

If I hadn’t been fascinated with the fact that there I am shipping chicken flavoured crackers and just written crackers on my form I would be driving to Kentucky right now rather than sitting in a CBP office for the last 30 minutes with no end in sight.
