It’s exhausting. For years, decades, right wing media have lied and told us #climate breakdown was just woke nonsense. Now, it’s whoopsies, yes it’s real, but relax everyone & enjoy our new “Mediterranean” climate as Europe goes up in flames around us.

If this page is an indication of how well prepared we are and how seriously we’re taking this issue, I’m _greatly_ concerned. www.dcceew.gov.au/environment/...

The Tintwistle-Crowden fire seems to have been arrested by the Pennine Way along its eastern front - evidence for the value of even narrow firebreaks - granted in this case that strong E winds have limited its ability to cross barriers. Video from today by Christian Heintzen 🌍🔥

Let’s be very clear that the media narrative “Labour's ‘woke’ rewilding” in the wake of the fire(s) in our Peak District valley is thick with disinformation. 🌍🔥Thread 1/15

Nonsense news story in the Daily Mail

House Crow. A new addition to my Aussie list. Considered an invasive species of concern, these often turn up on ships but are quickly eliminated. A pair has been hanging around for a few weeks south of Perth, with apparently no action by authorities.

There's likely to be a significant spike in deaths of birds & mammals in Australia in the near future 💔. H5N1 is here & is likely to spread quickly in the coming weeks & months. I hope governments invest all the $ needed to ensure the worst outcomes, i.e. native wildlife extinctions, are avoided.
