Today, the court made it final: US Olympian Davey Hearn’s case has been DISMISSED WITH PREJUDICE. The judge wrote that the prosecution “lacked merit” because “no crime had occurred.” Thank you to everyone who joined in this fight! I could not be happier for Davey and his family. Case closed.

September is National Service Dog Month. Today I met with local advocates, including @rcm.dev, about how Rockville can better support service dogs and the people who rely on them. We also discussed a possible Rockville Service Dog Advocacy Task Force. I’m excited to keep this work moving forward!

Thank you @raskin.house.gov & all who showed up for Davey Hearn. Yesterday, prosecutors admitted no plan to reindict, but still want to keep the door open! The judge noted White House pressure to recharge Davey. Unacceptable! The Court must make it final, and we will stand with Davey until it is.

Charges against Davey Hearn have been dropped! DOJ now says the Reflecting Pool damage was the result of flawed installation by the contractor, not provable vandalism. Davey should never have been made the face of that failure. We stood with Davey!

Davey Hearn has spent decades representing the United States with honor, mentoring athletes, & caring for Park Service land along the C&O Canal. This prosecution is absurd, excessive, & wrong. Davey deserves fairness, proportionality, & common sense from the federal government. I stand with Davey.
