@adilray.bsky.social What a lovely surprise to see you back on Good Morning Britain!
Musk shared a free download to a film on X that promotes attacking migrants and portrays them as rapists. One Muslim family of a perpetrator are murdered. A few weeks ago we saw pogroms on our streets. Imagine if I promoted a film that attacked Jews or Christians? Why is he allowed to do this?
The UK Home Office has said Gazans can no longer claim asylum based on the war alone as the intensity of attacks have reduced. Cases to be judged individually. (National Scot, The Sun, Yahoo) On Sat Netanyahu claimed Israel controls 70% of the area. Smotrich announced plans for more settlements.
I mean, people of colour literally have lots of ‘legitimate concerns’ about racist violence at the moment. But the phrase wouldn’t feature in coverage if any of them decided to attack random white people in response to it.
If Muslims or members of the Asian and Black community had set fire to white people’s homes with children running for their lives, do you think we would be discussing legitimate concerns or focussing on who radicalised them and ideological and contributing cultural factors?

To my media industry. Last night we saw a pogrom. A racist violent attack against people of colour aiming to expel innocent human beings from our streets. This was not chaos, unrest, a riot, a scary incident but a pogrom. Let’s be accurate if nothing else.
I cannot believe today of all days some are still discussing immigration in a way that dehumanises. It’s damaging. There is no such thing as illegal. They have human rights. And they make up just 3% of all migrants. And the majority of those allowed to work make a valid contribution to the country.
For months now fellow Muslims have talked to me about leaving the UK. One professional Muslim mother asked me “will they really make us leave, Adil?” Many don’t know who is going to help them? Who? Yes racists win, but one’s safety matters more when faced with pogroms. That many simply call unrest.
Politicians and many in the media have fed an anti immigrant, anti Muslim narrative with little nuance, facts and failed to explain migrant levels are at their lowest. If that’s you, you have no right to be shocked at the sight of immigrant homes set on fire. Some may say, this is what you wanted.
This is a good point. Would place him in a stronger democratic position?
Genuine question, why has he not been selected for Makerfield? If they're so desperate for him to be part of their 'shadow cabinet ' why doesn't he have the guts to stand in an election?
If Reform’s Zia Yusuf is concerned about black and brown people gaining systemic advantage over white people, maybe he should stand for election like others in his party? Surely that’s fair to all Reform members. In 2024 Yusuf donated £200,000 to the party. Weeks later he was named Chairman
Nadhim Zahawi describes Nowak as someone "who lost his life because of incompetence". Greg Dyke points out that nobody is saying the mistake by police caused the death. Phillips intervenes with "nobody knows". A lack of basic research on a very sensitive topic. Paragraph 16 of sentencing remarks:
I don't know what Adil's talking about here, and I pay more attention to the news than most, which I imagine makes his point very well. #r4today
Almost zero coverage of the worst anti Muslim hate we have witnessed in the UK in our lifetime. This is deeply concerning and hugely damaging. How the nation responds in these immediate days is vital. A lack of response is the worst possible response.

Yesterday Far Right leader Tommy Robinson and his followers openly called for Islam to be removed from the UK and us Muslims to be remigrated. If he had said this about Jews, quite rightly, there would be a national response. But it has been eerily quiet today.
Adil Ray, "In 2019 you said about Donald Trump on his first state visit" "It doesn't help Britain to be lavishing pomp on a president so determined to be divisive, childish and destructive" "Do you think Donald Trump has changed?" Yvette Cooper, "We have a strong partnership with the US"
Vance: "We want you to make a decision about your future with no outside forces pressuring you or telling you what to do. I'm not telling you exactly who to vote for." Vance 20 minutes later: "Go to the polls at the weekend. Stand with Viktor Orbán!"
For purposes of research has anyone seen any support for Trumps latest “a whole civilisation will die tonight” post? Please post below with links and sources if you can. Thank you 🙏🏾
Made Keralan Lamb Stew today! Eaten at Easter by Christians in that part of the world 🐣💜
Last week Trump was compared to Jesus. Today is Easter Sunday. Many Christians will be insulted by this, as Muslims will be too. A reminder he is the Commander in Chief and has authority to do the unspeakable. Will anyone in his team and party speak out? Or does he have their full support?
According to the Cato Institute, The Trump administration is reportedly receiving millions of immigration applications, pocketing the hefty fees, and never processing the applications. It’s collected over $1 billion in fees so far. Where is the outcry over this fraud and abuse?

British Islamic fact of the day. “Trafalgar" originates from the Arabic phrase taraf al-ghar, (طرف الغرب) meaning "cape of the west" or "western edge," which refers to Cape Trafalgar in Andalusia. It is best known for the 1805 Battle of Trafalgar, where Britain defeated French and Spanish forces.
Just down the coast is that other bastion of British Brit Britishness, Gibraltar - Gib el Tarik (Jabal Tariq), meaning "Mountain of Tariq" Perhaps we're a little bit more historically connected to other cultures than we like to imagine.

Since Muslims prayed for peace in London last week we hear discussions about Islamic Extremism. Which is horrific. But Netanyahu is accused of abhorrent war crimes and quotes Amaleks from the Torah. And two weeks ago Trump’s team led a Christian prayer in the Oval Office after bombing a girls school.
If some are still worried about Islam dominating London, please don’t tell them the gothic architecture of Big Ben and the Houses or Parliament are hugely influenced by Islam. Big Ben is inspired by the minaret of the Great Mosque of Aleppo, Syria. And the HoP arches on the Mosque or Cordoba. ❤️
