Luke!@koltreg.bsky.social · 3mo agoI think contextually it is important that Niantic Games was sold off and acquired by Scopely who are owned by Savvy Games which is an investment branch of the Saudi Arabian government. This was a strategic investment to get access to the data by a foreign government with no ethical concerns.

I have a longer thing I'm working on about this, with more data and stuff, but the key thing folks need to know: anyone on the left *CANNOT WIN* with any kind of content on platforms where the right owns the algorithm. Not just in politics — in entertainment media, or anything else.

I just spotted Madeleine Sami playing Tyro the Amazon in an episode of Xena Warrior Princess! She made one of my favorite movies, The Breaker Upperers, with Jackie van Beek and is extremely funny (not as an Amazon though, she is taking that role seriously).
I'm super lucky to have access to a lot of very good library systems. Sometimes there are shenanigans involved in getting cards for those systems. I justify it by using all of them as frequently as possible to increase their patron and use stats hopefully leading to more local support and tax money.

Finished in September: 🎧 Looking for Smoke by K. A. Cobell (Blackfeet) read by Julie Lumsden, Katie Anvil Rich, Shaun Taylor-Corbett, and Jordan Waunch. Thriller told in the voices of four teens. I cried multiple times listening to it. I'm looking forward to whatever Cobell writes next.
Finished in September: 🎧 One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston read by Natalie Naudus. Slightly less steamy than The Pairing, this paranormal-light romance was sweet and satisfying. #QueerBooks
