cool, cute, and collected! (they/them) games producer, technical designer, etc adrienne(at)radioactive(dot)dog

This might be a bit niche, but it’s very annoying hearing of organisations saying “well it’s the law to segregate trans people so hands are tied” when most of them respond to accessibility law with “eh who’s gonna catch us?”

Yup. I've said before how there is no such thing as an "AI detector." All they do is check if a writing sample is similar to AI source training material, or AI human evaluators. Source material is from "authors, writers, and professors" Human eval is "Africans that speak English better than you"🤷🏿‍♂️

A Nigerian born author, Jerry Falade, had his $2.4M book deal pulled because he was accused of using AI. There is unavoidable optics of a Black man writing a brilliant novel that people assume must have been written by AI. However the broader issue is we can’t trust any writing isn’t AI generated.

As @reckless.bsky.social noted, it says something about our society that tech is willing to throw these features in their platforms to prevent AI content (some of which is fine) but need court orders before they’ll do anything about racism, sexism, homophobia, misogyny or the like

LinkedIn management: AI posts are costing too much and driving users away LI devs: we need to train our AI to appear closer to actual human writing LI marketing: we need a positive news story “Seems like AI slop” button was borne.
