Here in Texas, Republicans basically aren't even bothering with Spanish-language ads. This sends a negative competence signal to many Latino voters, who are generally English fluent but get the message that Republicans don't care about them. www.texastribune.org/2026/10/02/t...

Bo French's gutter racism against the UT student body is welcomed and amplified by its cowardly and immoral "leadership." Rightwing culture vultures are trying to dismantle one of Texas's greatest achievements in its public university system. Appalling contempt for Texas students.
New UT applicants can’t select Mexican American, African American and women’s studies majors - although the provost hasn’t publicly cancelled the programs.
Trump promises more inflation if Republicans control Congress.
At the Republican convention, Trump offered to give a $5,000 “dividend” to every adult citizen if Republicans win the House and Senate in November. It was not clear how he would go about carrying out the measure, which would likely cost over $1 trillion. It is also certain to raise legal questions.
Congrats to @jlray.bsky.social, @angelaxocampo.bsky.social ,Shawn, Knox, Kathy, and Zaller on the publication of Parties on the Ground. Can't wait to see it in the wild at APSA!!

Exciting new set of results leveraging a large survey of Puerto Ricans in the US. Racial identification and linked fate are heavily dependent on personal context, and linked fate varies greatly across subgroups. A lot of great finds in this dataset.
Very excited to share that our paper on Latino group identity is out! In this article @profdanielle.bsky.social and I discuss how for Puerto Ricans in the U.S. skin tone and racial identification impact feelings of group closeness to Latinos and Black linked fate. www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
