I'm quitting my academic job to start a lucrative consulting gig for national football coaches. I'm going to make millions on my new disruptive groundbreaking idea called "Midfield".

Thank you to my workout app, which sent me a notification to suggest that I should celebrate the upcoming mother's day with a special "mom workout".

The (extremely critical) 6 year old told me "wow you look cool mama" so I am never changing out of this outfit.

Using my afternoon off to recruit for the team.

Proud to announce that after scoring a grand total of 0 goals all season I scored a hat trick at scrimmage and I am quitting ice hockey while I'm ahead.

Happy "one day a year that the university is closed but school and daycare are open" to those who celebrate! I'll be celebrating it volunteering at school this morning because I am stupid.

Slightly miffed that amidst all the (various and elaborate) stuff I cook my kids' favorite and the request I got for daycare Easter lunch is... Mac&Cheese. However, behold: individual Mac&Cheeses (which were a success, they're all gone) .

I swear I had nothing to do with this clay project, she made these dividing cells with no input from me. But she's definitely first in the will now.

I got myself all worked up to do a midiprep for the lab and be useful. Turns out we ran out of competent bacteria. Turns out actually not but I just couldn't find them. Folks, it has finally happened.

Anyone that has parented a toddler in the "not like thaaaaaaat" phase can understand the sheer terror I felt this morning when The Toddler asked me to "cut his egg".

I've been in denial, but this is the last week of my first brie-liant PhD student Snježana Kodba (defense some time in the spring/summer). We (I) were very lucky to have her and will miss her!!
