when they say "political" they mean a challenge to white supremacist imperialism. Read up on the history of Haiti and how their "sin" of defeating one of the most powerful Empires in the world in 1804 resulted in centuries of the west's intentional punishment of Haiti.

You could actually structure your moral code around the idea that law enforcement doesn't exist to execute people. You don't have to create perfect victim narratives, you can just refuse to accept that the state gets to kill people.

We're excited to share the details of our Department's upcoming 10th Annual Black History Month lecture. Our featured speaker will be Dr. Nicholas R. Jones (Yale), lecturing on "Cervantine Blackness as an Ethics of Care."
