Luckily I was attached to a holter monitor for this nonsense to be captured. NDIS meeting - heart rate reasonable Relaxing - heart rate goes nuts
Nurse Lisa has passed the halfway point. 11 hours left in a kiddie pool in my front yard to raise funds for Cancer Council Daffodil Day Dip Donate here www.daffodilday.com.au/fundraisers/... or please share
Wore my happy neuron pants today for MRI #3. There was a chilling moment when I realised that I was in this exact facility in 2003 when they diagnosed my first brain tumour. I've got all the things crossed for a better outcome from today's imaging
I often wonder what it would look like if every chapter of my life showed on my face. The grief. The caregiving. The illness. The resilience. Maybe it would not make me less beautiful. Maybe it would make me more true.
I had a great hike today. Im reminded every day that I made the right decision to move here.

This girl has been fighting invisible battles most of her life. This coming week, decisions are being made about her life and she has no control over the outcome.
May is Brain Tumour Awareness Month. This photo was taken after I had lifesaving brain surgery in 2011. I share this image to remind people that brain tumour survival is possible, that research matters, and that behind every statistic is a real person.
Our celebration of Yidan and Xinyu, who have both passed their early candidature milestones. These moments matter. Early candidature can be incredibly challenging, taking time to acknowledge progress and celebrate each other is a key part of building a healthy academic culture.
Content note, suicidal ideation. I have lived with suicidal ideation since childhood. It is not a phase or a personality trait, it is a symptom I have learned to notice, name, and ride out. If you are carrying this too, you deserve support and you deserve to stay. Lifeline 13 11 14.

Fifteen years ago, I was a mum of four who was dying of a brain tumour. I was preparing for a future I did not expect to see. And now, somehow, I am in the middle of my PhD. open.substack.com/pub/julesrob... @drstevenhobbs.bsky.social @lissbee.bsky.social @liangrhea.bsky.social

Neurosurgery has rejected my referral. This image was made in 2022. Following my recent trip to the USA, I am now living in a space where I feel like I will vomit from the pain. I have not managed to sleep a whole night in a long time My GP is livid and resubmitted the referral + paperwork
When I was preparing to fly to the USA, I had two friends in hospice. Today I received the news that one passed on December 20. The other I was with when he passed on December 27. While I mourn these losses, I appreciate that both had dignity and received pain management in their final days.
