We're so lucky in Australia. We can vote for weeks in advance, from interstate or overseas, the official election is a Saturday, and mobile polling officers visit homes and hospitals. Voting in the US seems like utter shenanigans by comparison, as though they don't want people to vote. Oh wait. 👀

We try to do this too, and it's especially tricky in a culture where 'face' and honesty are paramount. But my mother and aunties taught me well. Put the $$$ in a red packet and invoke the holidays, the gods, their kids' education, anything- and then they can't refuse. 😉

SibL said I'd said everyone should be entitled to bereavement leave. It's hard work, cleaning, mothering, being self-employed. She is making our lives so much easier. She is worth it. (We're paying over Xmas, too.)
I'm no economist, but if government spending is at least partially driving inflation (and the need for five rate rises in a row)... ...surely $360 billion bucks *not* spent by the government should help, right? Like... submarine-y bucks? #AUKUS 🤔

👏Tavares about the 'ritualistic' nature of examiner training and calibration in #MedEd. It is not necessarily a success to achieve less variability or fewer outliers amongst markers. If we wanted 'standardisation' in assessment, we could just assign an AI robot to it.

I'm glad we don't use *sheep scrotum skin* as gloves anymore 🐑🤯... though it was a major advance in the days of Persian surgeon Hakim Mohammad (1571–1629), who recognised the role of hands/ fingers in infection well ahead of Western counterparts like Semmelweiss in the 1850s.

The trolls on the OP playing 'manel bingo' (women surgeons don't exist, aren't as good, or don't attend etc) don't realise how far wide of the mark they are.
