Happy birthday to legendary fantasy and sci-fi painter Larry Elmore. His impact on not just #Dungeons&Dragons, but on the gaming industry as a whole can’t be overstated. Below is the early draft of one of the most iconic pieces of #fantasyart ever produced, the cover of the 1983 #D&D basic set.
Rest in peace Katsushi Murakami (1942-2026). A legendary designer for many #tokusatsu & #anime series and toys. He was responsible for the revolutionary #Chogokin toy line from Popy/Bandai in the 70s, not to mention the whole super #sentai genre.
Sue the T-Rex is probably the most famous paleontological discovery in history. She is one of the largest and most complete T-Rex fossils ever uncovered. I got to see this piece of history in person at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis when it was on loan from the Field Museum in Chicago. 🦖

Who has the most instantly recognizable art style in all of comics? Jack Kirby, without question. Jack’s style defined the look of Marvel Comics for a generation, and still influences artists to this day. They don’t call him “The King” for nothing.
