A vertical, high contrast, colour photo of the TC Energy Center (formerly the Bank of America Center), a 780-ft tall, 56-story high postmodern skyscraper located I Houston, Texas. Completed in October 1983, it was designed by Johnson/Burgee Architects who did several of the Post-Modern skyscrapers in Houston.

The building is considered architecturally important because it eschewed the popular boxy mid century style in favour of a new style that this particular building launched as an architectural style: Post-modernism, focusing on beauty and form over practical function. So, they designed it with inspiration from Dutch Gothic canal houses, featuring three stepped tower setbacks with steeply pitched gabled roofs and spires but also Romanesque and Gothic medieval cathedral structure. Then they built its exterior in distinctive red Swedish granite that gives the building a warm, dark pink hue. It houses 1.25 million square feet of office space, serves as the U.S. headquarters for TC Energy, and connects to Houston's immense, downtown tunnel system that is essentially an entire subterranean world under the city. Yes, this is a very bizarre, complicated, unexpected city, lol.

This image the main organ of the Nidaros catherdral or Nidarosdomen in Trondheim, as well as the rose window behind and above it. The organ, which appears in the center of the frame, mostly in the lower third, was built by the Steinmeyer company in 1930. It has 125 stops and approximately 9,000 pipes. The pipes rise symmetrically on either side of center from darkness at the bottom of the frame, reaching toward the rose window in roughly the center of the frame. Above the window we can see lovely detail of the vaulted ceiling of the Nidarosdomen, and to the left and right the arched and carved walls. The image is finished by the appearance of clerestories at the top right and left admitting blue-tinted daylight.

Our striking black-and-white photograph shows the front of an old, weathered two storey building beneath a dramatic, heavily clouded sky.

The building has a distinctive triangular gable and a large chimney rising from its centre. The chimney is aged and stained, with patches of moss or vegetation around its top. A sign beneath it bears the words “SEAN CLOSCHA CHEATHARLACH.”

The entire façade is decorated with painted musical notation. Lines of music, treble and bass clefs, notes and rests stretch across the walls around four dark windows, giving the building the appearance of a giant sheet of music.

The weathered plaster, cracks and peeling surfaces add to its character. In the foreground is an elaborate black wrought-iron fence, decorated with curling scrollwork and several tall, fleur-de-lis-shaped finials.

The fence creates a strong dark silhouette against the pale building. Above it all, enormous swirling clouds fill the sky.

Their varied shades of grey create a brooding, almost theatrical atmosphere, contrasting beautifully with the stark white walls and black ironwork.

The monochrome treatment emphasises the building’s age, textures and musical decoration, giving the scene a haunting, timeless quality.

This image shows shows a sea eagle in flight in front of the misty, rocky islands of the Lofoten Archipelago in Norway. This image shows a waterfall on the Ilabekken trail in Trondheim, Norway. The fall flows downward from left to right in the central third of the image, filling it horizontally. A relatively long exposure (1 sec) gives the fall a milky appearance, but also leads to some motion blur, particularly in some of the foliage above the fall. In the foreground, we see the rocky shore of the Ilabekken, covered with flat, slate-like stones, as well as a large, mossy boulder in the center of the image horizontally and about a third up from the bottom. It's covered with bright green moss, particularly on its right side; the moss is particularly pronounced on the roots. The top of the stump is jagged, and slopes gently down from right to left. The left side of the stump, which faces the trail, is significantly less mossy. The stump sits on a hillside that slopes gently down from left to right, in contrast to the slope of the stump.
