So, l knew what l wanted to do with this edit but there was a skill issue…mine lol.

I tried for ages to find a suitable Google image of a simple easel, but I couldn’t get it to work.

But I know a Dan that can 😉

So, off to my step son and l asked him to use unity (after paying a beer tax of course) to drop a photorealistic easel into the first image and match all the lighting conditions.

Then he spouted gobbledygook about “global illumination, volumetric lighting and spectral highlighting?” and l had my base image.

I then took that new image into an app called Phonto and added the darker capture and with manipulation, l got the angle l needed without losing the quality for it to be positioned on the easel.

I then deleted the background image which left me with just the darker picture at the correct angle which l saved.

Then into Snapseed with the background image and the new darker one at the correct angle was added as a double exposure so l could get it to rest on the easel.

That new completed image was then taken to Lightroom for my usual finishing touches of a slight vignette and a white boarder frame.

Our moody early morning scene captures the quiet routine that begins long before most people are awake.

Heavy charcoal-grey clouds stretch across the sky, broken only by narrow gaps where the rising sun pushes through, casting soft streaks of golden light along the horizon.

Several overhead power lines cut diagonally across the dramatic sky, adding to the sense of an ordinary working morning.

In the foreground is the entrance to a modern supermarket. Large glass windows reflect the warm glow of sunrise while the interior remains dimly lit, hinting that staff are preparing for the day ahead.

Metal railings surround raised planting beds filled with tall ornamental grasses, and sturdy stainless-steel bollards line the pavement at the front of the store.

To the right of the building, a bright yellow bakery delivery van stands out against the dark surroundings.

Parked beside the entrance, it appears to have just arrived with the morning’s fresh bread.

Although no workers are visible, the van suggests the familiar, unseen rhythm of early deliveries that stock supermarket shelves before customers arrive.

Trees frame the background, their dark silhouettes blending into the stormy sky, while a few streetlights remain standing over the quiet car park.

The contrast between the glowing sunrise, the threatening clouds, and the vivid yellow delivery van creates a striking image of everyday life.

A reminder that while the town is still waking, the day’s work is already well underway, ensuring fresh bread is waiting for the first shoppers of the morning.

And finally our picture today is finished with a simple white border frame.
