I am doing initial book launch event planning while wearing gym shorts and a t-shirt in a park with two dogs pulling each of my arms in opposite directions while I voice message people on my phone and somehow this feels very me
An agent (past rep, not my current agent) once wrote in the margins of my manuscript at a fade-to-black scene, "Sex?" No other notes on the scene A friend's comment: "Maybe he just happened to be thinking about sex while he was reading" 🤣
The roof of my car was buzzed by one of these once. What's your sign?

Brainstorming post ideas for A Dozen Dystopias and How to Dodge Them, and having fun with it. Because that's what this is for: the having of the fun. If I wanted to do something that wasn't fun, there are a thousand ways to NOT have fun that are more profitable than writing.

Bo had a bath and he would like to speak to the manager.
I made this reminder that the science of dystopias is on its way!!! The official cover reveal of A Dozen Dystopias and How to Dodge Them is coming soon! Also can’t wait to share what’s inside the book (of course!) but we’ll have to wait a little longer for that part.
This 36K novella is one of the projects that came out of my writing retreat last month ... five days of writing in a cozy spot in the rainy summer woods to be inspired to finish and polish something you've been building for years.

Hey there. Here's a favorite SFFH magazine of mine focused on immigrant and diaspora stories. They're doing interesting work and in the midst of a fundraiser. 11 days left and still a ways to go. What better way to support creators from across the globe, especially now.

My toxic trait this month is I keep emailing myself links to short story markets to submit to and then not getting around to opening the emails.
Jumping into another session of drafting FROM MUSHROOMS TO THE MOON. Guess I should make some tea? Not mushroom tea, & def not THIS mushroom; this is Amanita muscaria I found, and yep, it's poisonous. Rarely fatal, but I'm still not drinking any Amanita tea.
