Somehow something in my fridge has been slowly leaking and freezing a 1/4" thick sheet of ice under the drawer with an opaque bottom where I couldn't see and sometime today something exploded and sent water dripping into the basement onto structural wood that already had previous water damage

The aspiring stand up comedian I dated for a month who dumped me over Google messages the day after we slept together the first time then dated my lesbian ex-best friend is now posting on LinkedIn asking for votes for him and his current finance to win "America's Best Couple"

A senior officer in US Central Command’s (CENTCOM) intelligence branch emailed a broad group of military analysts seeking “new creative and unconventional ways to pressure and punish Iran.” A second source indicated a similar request went out the prior week.

As if I don't have enough projects in the house...impulse thrifted a cabinet record player for $20 today. I'm told the turntable works but it needs new speakers. The top lid needs to be reglued. It's covered in 50 year old spider webs and wired like it will burn my house down. I had to have it.

When pressed on how to keep schools open, Nate Silver suggested hazard pay but couldn't seem to figure out what happens when you run out of people who are willing to get sick and possibly die at work. So much punditry really boils down to a guy going "oh no not like that."

This is what I mean when I talk about the Fantasy of the Optional Pandemic, where the virus was erased from the equation and mitigation measures were always portrayed as an avoidable choice. Headlines about what actually happened are never even acknowledged.

I've joked since moving in that by the time I'm done with the house, the only thing I haven't replaced will be the furnace...found out today I have a model with a faulty secondary heat exchanger and to expect to need a new furnace pretty soon 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

A Democrat saying "Black people shouldn't have healthcare" or "Jews aren't biological people" or "immigrants shouldn't be allowed to play sports" would be ostracized and condemned from coast to coast, so why should we accept these repulsive beliefs when it comes to trans people?
