“Gaston” is one of the greatest Disney songs ever written and it’s timeless in its takedown of dudebros. “I use antlers in all of my decorating” = “I hang Scarface and Fight Club posters in my dorm room”

Today in the second round of the Ultimate Walt Disney Animation Studios Songs bracket, I have good news and bad news. Good: An Ashman/Menken song will win! Bad: An Ashman/Menken song will lose. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

Watching THE PEOPLE VS. LARRY FLYNT, and it makes me so sad. The country, and our laws and values, have fallen so low in 30 years. The Supreme Court as portrayed in this film comes across as upholding those values we hold so dear. They would never do so now. It makes me legitimately sad and angry.

Audiences watching THE ODYSSEY - "Wait, this is about AMERICA!?" like they just discovered metaphor. Motherfucker, it's barely puddle-deep. Read something that's not fucking Harry Potter.

Rob Saucedo, who remained my friend even after I spent a year trying to make the nickname “Bobby Sauce” happen, is a true advocate and champion for movies, and there is no better person to be running the River Oaks Theatre.

July 2026 was the most successful month the River Oaks Theatre has experienced since reopening in October 2024. That's impressive in its own right, but July 2026 was a 40 percent growth over the July 2019 box office for the River Oaks Theatre.

Sometimes you hear, see, or read something with no idea that the person who created it is a shitheel. You just enjoy the art. It would be exhausting to have to do a background check on everyone who makes something you like. These days, though, it’s starting to feel like you might need to.

Spider-Man: We’ll find the bad guy. I have cameras everywhere. DeWolff: That’s massively illegal, but okay. Spider-Man: Batman did it in that movie. DeWolff: okay HERO

BRAND NEW DAY, 2nd time: I love that it’s a little slow. Cretton and Holland take care that this is an emotional ride as much as it is an action one. Of all the MCU movies, it feels the most like real people in these epic events. SPIDER-MAN movies still feel special while the others feel routine.
