I wrote about how I built an application that stores more than half a billion fuel prices in a #MongoDB database and displays the relevant 30 prices faster than you can blink. Part 1 on how to model the database and import this much data is available now: dev.to/mongodb/how-...

I’m the person to show up four hours early to a flight, then complain about crowded airport lounges. I wonder if I can expense the cost of the private terminal in Munich 🤔
Hey, that’s me! You should totally come to Amsterdam to see this (and all the other great speakers)

Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Yemen, and now Qatar. Israeli aggression and Zionist oppression has to stop, now! It’s time to sanction and isolate Israel like we have isolated and sanctioned Russia for their invasion of Ukraine!
The German healthcare system can’t tolerate “my meds work and I’d rather not make any changes”. FFS. Back to looking for doctors and therapists that have an open wait list.
25 countries call on Hamas to release the hostages and on Israel to end its war on Gaza. Germany is not joining the statement, apparently our government still hasn’t gotten rid of its genocidal habit.

Always a special moment when you tag a major release...
Deprecating the implicitly nullable parameter in #PHP 8.4 had a huge cost for the maintainers. Even if there are solutions to automate the fixes, that breaks almost all old code with very low value for developers. My article about fixing this is by far the most popular I have ever published.
“Computing is too important to be left to men.” - I think I’m going to put this on a sticker to remind ourselves more often.
