For reference, this is only 2 years shorter than the release gap between MvC2 and 3. It's also the longest we've gone without Capcom vs. anything; longer than CvS2 to TvC (seven years) or MvC3 to MvCI (six years). Damn...

Whenever people online organize boycotts for things that are still actively popular, it almost always seems like they're a loud, vocal minority. Part of the problem is that normies exist. Not everyone is terminally online or in the know.

I had a PS2 like most people that gen, but I also knew not to sleep on the GameCube either. In hindsight, I could've waited a few years to get a Wii instead, but one of the first games I got for the Cube was the now valuable Ocarina of Time Master Quest disc alongside Wind Waker.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time + Master Quest disc, typically offered as a pre-order bonus for Wind Waker if memory serves. Not to be confused with the Collector's Edition disc that contained vanilla OoT alongside Majora's Mask and the NES duology. My first exposure to this game was watching a cousin play it on N64, but I first actually played it via this remarkably solid emulated re-release. The Master Quest mode, later brought back in the 3DS remaster, contained harder, remixed dungeons. I wonder if they'll bring it back in the new remake...

It’s been 25 years since the Nintendo GameCube launched. This console changed my life. It had some of the greatest games in history. Super Mario Sunshine, The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker, Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime, Super Smash Bros Melee etc.. Absolutely amazing console. ✨
