Amtrak has published its new 5-year plan, which we have linked below. Notably, Amtrak has accelerated its short-term goal of 37 million passengers from 2028 to 2026. It is now projecting over 40 million passengers in 2028.

How do street-design knowers feel about these mini roundabouts with mountable curb centers that allow larger vehicles (aka buses) to intentionally drive over them? Not perfect but in a space constrained area they seem pretty good to me
The people in charge of your city’s streets do not care if their road designs kill people, so long as traffic flows freely.
Two years ago, I was removed from the Anaheim Planning Commission because of a fight with the city’s traffic engineer. I wanted him to prioritize safety. He wanted to ensure cars could move quickly through our city. The city council of the largest city in the county backed his vision of our roads.

Today is launch day for our new transit network in Des Moines! The new network is designed by @humantransit.bsky.social and Associates and is several years in the making! The focus is turning an old commuter style bus network into a frequent 7 day a week service to be used for all types of trips
